Library question

The OP has me wondering-- Does anyone go to a library that puts religious writings in the fictions section? I mean, I have never seen that. ;)

FWIW, I've never been in a library that puts Shakespeare in the fiction section either. He's shelved under 822.33.

I would suggest they would be out of place.

If it is in a library, on the spine of the book, there should be a number, and three letters (assuming you have the dewey cataloging system there). The ordering of the books is by the number, and when this is identical, the letters.

If this is in place, I would suggest that the librarians need to recatalog it, because bibles do not go next to dictionaries, no matter how many people try to insist it is the single important reference material.

Either way, it's poor positioning might explain why it is borrowed out so little.

Well, we are a government university thus Buddhist, most Buddhists have little to no interest in the Bible and it is in English, most people here don't really want to read English unless it is absolutely necessary, I doubt most of the staff let alone the students could get a grip on all the thees and thous so, that may be another reason. In any event the books I mentioned appear to be older than me, We don't teach anything that would require the use of these books but if I need reference for my students I have a copy of the Bible in Thai on my computer which I have actually used a few times.
