Life on Earth came from Mars

This was an interesting article. One reason to suspect that life may have come from another place is that all creatures on Earth appear to be genetically related, but that isn't the whole story. Maybe life originated on Earth multiple times but for some reason only the DNA form survived, or perhaps only DNA based life could have formed on Earth, or perhaps.... so on and so forth.

Its one of those ideas that makes Chemistry interesting. As for the article, it is based on the presupposition that life began with RNA formed as chemicals washing up against Boron and Molybdenum catalysts with the reactions energized by radiation. I don't understand the chemical side of it, except that RNA has a structure similar to DNA and for it to randomly form would require some mechanism promoting RNA production verses aggregation of blobs. I can appreciate that its clever.

Even if true it explains and predicts nothing.

I think it's really intriguing. The idea of 'life' transferring across the universe must surely reorient some worldviews?

Now I know why I have always loved mars bars - it's genetic!:p
Snickers is better.
There should be a planet named after the superior candy bar!
I propose that Earth now be known as "Snickers".
(It has more peanuts than Mars.)

I bet that if anyone invents a "Uranus Bar", it won't be popular.

It just goes to prove that English speaking Scientists don't control the naming of astral bodies. I'm sure that of the eight planets, each one has an offensive meaning in at least one Earth language. Thus 'Snickers' might be an appropriate nick-name for Earth.
