Lightning Bug or Firefly. What do you call them?

Scientists in general have documented significant global declines in insect populations. Some are more noticeable to humans than others. This is in step with global biosphere declines just in general, though there are particular concerns about insects given they overwhelmingly dominate the animal kingdom and they are so interwoven in the tapestry of terrestrial life that it doesn't exist without them as an organism group.

Most insects are either beneficial or at least harmless. Some of them are beautiful and fascinating. And without them, life as we know it would not exist at all.
