As cute as it looks, this is most probably the cat performing some sort of trick it was trained to do in the circus. Lions don't often hug and kiss each other in the wild. I could always be wrong though...

On topic, it looks to me like the lion is playing. I saw my cat do exactly the same thing to my son when he was crawling. It then streaked off down the hallway and came back to attack my leg.

Even if it weren't an actual hug and kiss it is affection. Animals know who's in their corner. This is even more true when dealign with an animal accostumed to human contact. They may learn to show affection as we do, with hugs and kisses. She may have been doing that to him, and the lion having learned it was acceptable started to do it back to her. It's possible.
