.....is my 'religion'.

I have dipped into various belief systems along the Way, including Christianity, Buddhism, Bahai,Theosophy, Rosicrucian; but none were for me!

So here I am in my 50's and I've taken to the Sufi Way!

I can see, and even feel, the Oneness of It All.

I have dropped all beliefs and have chosen to research whatever appeals.

Subjects which do appeal to me include:-

Ghosts/Paranormal
UFO's/ET's/Abductions including MILABS(Military abductions posing as ET's)
Life before and after death
Reincarnation
Mysticism
Meditation
Dreams/Astral Travel

I enjoy writing poetry, listening to various types of music from heavy metal to classical. And comedy - I adore laughter, in fact it is a major part of my 'religion'!!!

Namaste,

BTROD

Welcome aboard :D

Sufi as in Sufi Islam?

I'm reading a few books by Hazrat Inayat Khan(The Way Of Illumination, The Inner Life and one other title which is on my Kindle) , and take what resonates which is at least 99%; maybe an apt description would be a freelance Sufi!!!

I've never been able to 'fit' in to organised religion as I find it too suffocating! Great for those who can though!

I don't really know much about Sufism. I'm an orthodox Muslim :)

Yeah, I feel you. Going honestly under a religion does require commitment and seriousness and that's boring. One has to have strong faith to do so.

When I first came here to RF, I never thought I'd find people having so much trouble with religion. Makes me appreciate I'm happy with mine.

I wish you the best in finding what you are looking for :)

Religion is a suffocating experience for me, especially when you question its content and structure. To blindly follow a set of rules and beliefs is, in my mind a weakness and a folly. To allow a book to control one's life is not a good thing.

I do question religion, I enjoy questioning religion and knowing how little the believers really know about what they believe in! I question everything to be honest. The only thing I know for sure is I Am(Consciousness).

I also like The Tao, as well as the Sufi Path.

I would like to recommend a book by PMH Atwater - The Big Book of NDE's. If your interested in NDE's then this is for you!

Really sorry to know about your experience man.

Yeah, religion can be very suffocating.

I don't blame you for questioning religion. But try to not let that get the better of you. Try to ignore it from time to time so it does not bother you and affect your normal like.

Anyways, please don't think bad of me because I follow a religion. I respect the freedom of beliefs and people for who they are :)

I'm in a good place! And I don't think badly of you because you follow a religion, its where you are and its your experience my friend. I have a good friend who is a Christian, and I toy with him about his beliefs! He still remains my friend!!!

I enjoy exploring, so being confined to a set of rules/beliefs is not for me.

I enjoy the poetry of Rumi and Hafiz. I like the Sufi Path.
