Living in Las Vegas Tunnels

I saw this on the guardian and it is hard to comprehend that this is real-life. This feels like something out of a movie as an almost post-apocalyptic attitude of survival and withdrawing from the world by any means necessary. like living in a nuclear bunker. I'm not sure what I can say about it.

Another Video from Youtube..

What does this say about America? Does it say anything at all?

I've read about that before, when I was all into learning about hidden societies in America. In France, there has been found hidden places people like in the catacombs would live but clearly not as wide spread as this (it would seem) due to it not being done out of necessity.

The case with Las Vegas is kind of unique due to how the tunnels were laid out. There just isn't a lot of places with infrastructure like that that can be used in that way. In all honesty it seems like a bad idea to me in case they ever flooded you'd be screwed. I think there is a similar system in NYC with abandoned subway tunnels. There is also evidence that in ancient times large cities with sewers and tunnels also had similar phenomena.

In all honesty if anything it speaks of, its homelessness, unless something in the videos (not finished watching yet) says more than when I learned about it.

Societies based on competition and greed rather than cooperation and mutual support tend to produce ever larger numbers of 'throw-away' people. And those people don't just walk away, and die, willingly. They end up creating their own hidden societies, wherever they can, surviving by whatever means is available to them.

What does it say about America? I'd ask what does it say about some people in America? Hollywood and Vegas are big draws for people who think they will get that big win or get that dream of being a movie star, when reality sets in and they realize they just weren't good enough or smart enough this is where quite a few of them end up. For the most part I'd say it isn't throw away people, it is people who have squandered a portion of their lives on short money and bad decisions, pipe dreams that never materialize for many.

Not exactly. There are numerous homeless in the U.S. and just because they are in "Lost Wages" does not necessarily, and in fact doesn't, imply that they are homeless because of gambling.

You imply the homeless are homeless by their own doing, that their situations could be remedied if they would only straighten up and put forth the effort.
