Longest you've gone without food

I was just curious and thought I'd ask...whats the longest you've ever been without food? When I was a kid I once went 2 weeks without food due to neglect and proverty. That's the longest. Im now curious about how many people on here have faced that kind of starvation. If you can and would like to comment where you from as well. Im from North Carolina, USA

About 2 days.

I wanted to do longer but I'm unable. I already eat little as it is, am small and have a low BMI. All I do is feel sick and pass out.

Why did you want to go without food? As a form of religious fasting? Or another reason? Not judging just curious.

Ah. I know a bit about eating disorders. I never had one but they sound rough. I hope you've gotten the help you needed

I voted a day. It was a little more than a day but not two days . I had a colonoscopy so I had to do a clear liquid only diet the day before. I could have jello, clear sodas, white grape juice, sweet tea, chicken broth and other clear liquids.

Whenever I'm compelled to do it. Mahshivaratri was the last fast for me. The time before that I think was for lab work.

About a day, and that was only because a bear ate our food on the last night of our canoe trip. We paddled the last day on an empty stomach, then bought food at the general store at our end point.

In all seriousness im glad you've never had to go hungry. That's a good thing. Im glad at least 3 people have voted they've never been without food and 5 people have voted only for one day. That shows how lucky most the people on here are and that's good.

Yeah. She had some cubs with her, too, so a whole family ate that night.

In all seriousness im glad you've never had to go hungry. That's a good thing. Im glad at least 3 people have voted they've never been without food and 5 people have voted only for one day. That shows how lucky most the people on here are and that's good.

There have been times that I've experienced food insecurity... times when I just barely had enough money to buy food for the week eating only the cheapest food I could find, but I never got to the point where I had to go without, or go to a food bank to avoid going hungry.

Actually it was 5.5 days, but I didn't want to be in the 2-5 bracket. That would just be like 2. 2 is nothing compared to 5.

I think, 2 days (subsisted on tea, first job). Third day morning - Samosas and tea. Praised the shopkeeper copiously.
He said 'when one is hungry, any food feels divine'. But his smallish samosas were real nice.
Wonder, how could he know!
