Hi everyone,

I just found this forum today. I've grown tired of debating on the message boards in certain other websites where it is clear that people are only interested in making each other angry and insulting each other. I'd love to debate some issues here.

I am a Christian, a Protestant evangelical if you want to get technical. If you want I can explain what that means. Anyway if you're interested I just made a post about the evidence for Jesus' resurrection a little while ago. I'd love to get some feedback there.

It won't take you long to figure out how things work around here.

I haven't dug into this for verification, but it seems that Christians are a minority here. That doesn't bother me, because I enjoy hearing different perspectives on things - and I also enjoy sharing my own perspective. But my point is that Christianity and Christian practices are often refuted quite intensely in this forum. You seem like someone with thick skin and an intelligent mind (based on your other post) - so you'll find both those qualities come in handy here.

There are also some great people with good minds here- and regardless of their particular beliefs, I think you will find those individuals refreshing and interesting.

I like the hosts - I like that they are not required to be neutral. I've been a part of other forums where the hosts could only act as moderators, and I much prefer them to respond and interact as real people with real beliefs.

Hi Koayashi and welcome,tell me about being an Evangelist,i have heard that Evangelists spit fire and brimstone,i'm sure its not true but i have'nt come across many Evangelists to know.
Anyway i'm sure you will have some interesting discussions here.:yes:

Yeah I was surprised at how many people responded to the last post. It's too bad I don't have time to respond to every single person - I guess I was more hoping for one or two one-on-one discussions but it doesn't matter. I think I'll enjoy participating in this forum. Out of curiosity, what do you mean by "liturgical Christian"?

Many evangelists do 'spit fire and brimstone'. An evangelist is simply someone who preaches the gospel (some do better than others). I don't know if I'd call myself an evangelist, but I am an evangelical, which means that I believe in the importance of a personal faith in and commitment to Jesus, and of a commitment to properly understanding and living according to the message of the Bible. There is a bit more to it but that's it in a nutshell.

Thanks to everybody who welcomed me. I am enjoying the fact that (provided we are being honest) I can get an idea for many of your religious backgrounds. It makes the other discussion I'm having much more interesting, because it helps me to see where you're coming from.
