What he did was wrong and indefensible. It is for cases like this that I wish that not every defendant gets a trial. What he did cannot be defended and we should spare the time, energy and expense in giving him a pulpit from which to spew hatred. Just jump to locking him up for a long, long time. He did this before. Rehabilitation has failed. The only question is whether he has a verifiable mental defect. If so, lock him up, but somewhere else.

I'm not aware of any police force, or any group that uses guns, who intentionally shoots to wound. If you've gone to the point of using a gun, you kill the ****er because otherwise you're left with the prospect of someone who is now noticeably either more-angry or more-afraid, and thus more desperate. There is also a very real situation where shooting to wound an individual could accidentally end in the death or injury of an innocent.

So no. You don't do that. If you've pulled a gun and your finger is on the trigger, you've committed for better or worse.

No.Not if you do it right. If you can't shoot you have no biz being a cop.Especially these Israeli dudes.I understand they have some of the best training in the world. They send people from the U.S. to train with them they are that good.

When you are that good you can do this.

Caution: strong language. and violence.

You 'understand' based on what? Have you done any research? Have you ever been to Israel? Have you ever been in a panicked crowd?

In short, do you have the slightest clue what you're talking about?

Looks more like he needs to be institutionalized and medicated.
I have no idea what is really going on in his head but it is probably unpleasant for him as well.

Or maybe he is just a religious fanatic and terrorist who belongs in prison. Not that those things are mutually exclusive.

For some strange reason, he was released early. If Israel has a supervised release system, he can be recommitted for whatever period the law allows, just based on a violation of his terms of early release. But I doubt the trial on new offenses will be lengthy: He had previously confessed when interrogated in 2005, there is no reasonable dispute that he did the same thing this time around and for the same reasons. I'd rather not revisit fundamental due process guarantees simply because there are easy cases.

I am curious as to why rehabilitation failed in this case. Of course, we do not even know if it was attempted. The primary purpose of prison is almost always punishment, with rehabilitation serving a far less important secondary role, if any. Given his early release, it is possible that he made himself appear rehabilitated when he simply was not.

I have the strangest feeling you've never actually spoken to a cop or soldier.

I have cousins who are, and were cops.I also have cousins in the Military. One of them threw 2 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. My uncle was in Vietnam.I have a friend who was also there. He told me some stories.I live in S.Texas.At one time we had more bases than anyone in the country. My city is called Military City because of our large Military population. So yes,I have spoken to cops and soldiers.Almost everyday of my life.I have talked to many cops too.

Ps.Funny! Yes,Steven Seagal is a big dude now.Lol..

I would have to say... American cops would have definitely had their guns drawn regardless of the crowd or race.

And I also dare say... They would have shot the guy especially after seeing the stabbing motion.

I don't believe this has to do with race but I wouldn't deny the notion.
