That gave me a snicker. Maracas and funyuns for all!SnaleSpace said:It's easy to organise people who are always sitting down. No need to find them.
I've tried nearly everything under the sun, and rather than being longwinded I think I'll try and be succinct (for once):Zephyr said:That gave me a snicker. Maracas and funyuns for all!
Seriously though, there are bigger problems than weed. I would consider alcohol and tobacco both worse than it. At least they result in physical addiction and alcohol nukes your brain.
Well, If I, ( a person with an incredibly addictive character) can give up smoking cigarettes after smoking 40 /day for near on 30 years, and alcohol (after having drunk far more than was good for me (and in often in secret) for a similar period - off and on, admitedly), then I guess I would argue the above.SnaleSpace said:I've tried nearly everything under the sun, and rather than being longwinded I think I'll try and be succinct (for once):
It doesn't matter what you're using, be it Meth, weed, Alcohol, Ciggies or Coffee. If you need it to get by, then you need to get by it.
I'd agree, micheal. Paint huffing is still the drug of choice for youth on plenty of northern indian reservations. And frankly, having shared an apartment for 4 months with a ravenous crack addict, i'm not sure i'd get behind everything under the sun nor think it recommendable if you "need it to get by".michel said:Well, If I, ( a person with an incredibly addictive character) can give up smoking cigarettes after smoking 40 /day for near on 30 years, and alcohol (after having drunk far more than was good for me (and in often in secret) for a similar period - off and on, admitedly), then I guess I would argue the above.
Just checking Mr Guy... But you realise I'm saying if you need a substances effect to get through your day, you should quit that substance?mr.guy said:I'd agree, micheal. If you say so. I feel i need a coffee to get through the day, but perhaps i should quit (NOOO!!). Besides, i doubt you're suggesting some of us stop taking anti-psychotics, blood-thinners, anti-rejection drugs or countless other substances some might think they also need to get by. "Getting by" is the toughest thing to define here, truly.SnaleSpace said:Just checking Mr Guy... And what if i am....:sarcasticmr.guy said:If you say so. I feel i need a coffee to get through the day, but perhaps i should quit (NOOO!!). Then please, don't leave us in suspense. I would wonder why dependance would be decidedly the best measure of a poor drug; There are worse consequential attributes then addiction, don't you think?SnaleSpace said:And what if i am....:sarcastic
I don't think it's about dependance. In my experience, it's about not being able to depend on yourself. That destroys your confidence further, making the job of teaching you to trust yourself harder by the day.mr.guy said:Then please, don't leave us in suspense. When can one deduce the tipping point where a "substance" robs one's self of self-dependance?SnaleSpace said:I don't think it's about dependance. Ummm when you need it to get by. When life without it is not feasible.mr.guy said:When can one deduce the tipping point where a "substance" robs one's self of self-dependance?
Ahhh...so this addiction to air i got must be really draggin' me down.SnaleSpace said:Ummm when you need it to get by. When life without it is not feasible.

I hear where you're coming from. However, after reading your post i failed to resist temptation. And ya know what's really sad about that? I've no chips in the house.Man, I am suddenly 'jonesin', lol, better get off this thread, before I go make a bong or somethin', lol
Thanks for sharing that story dude! Your wife sure knows how to spin a yarn or two .joeboonda said:Well, I used to smoke it. What can I say? I liked it, alot! I don't right now, partly because I want to take care of my body, lungs, as the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit in my religion. But, I used to smoke cigarettes, and once in a while I still may smoke one. And I drink in as much moderation as I know how, lol. But, mainly I don't smoke cuz its illegal where I live, and I don't wanna break the law or face the penalties. And because of Workers Comp issues, if I hurt myself or someone else at work, even if I smoked on the weekend or last week, if it shows up, I am monetarily screwed, big time. But, I believe it should be like alcohol, legal if your 21. Funny story, my teenage sons, first time ever, last nite, smoked a joint they bought at school, of course we smelled it and busted them. It is not acceptable in my home, lol, my wife told them we could lose our house and they could be sent to foster care where they would more than likely be molested, lol. Poor guys, they apologized this morning and said they'd never do it again. They know I used to, so I could not say a whole lot, but I don't think people should smoke when they are trying to get an education and their brain is still developing and all, they tend to lose focus, since they have the instant gratification the high gives. But, it is not like alcohol, or cigarettes, not nearly as unhealthy, It is vilified, and wrongly so. Man, I am suddenly 'jonesin', lol, better get off this thread, before I go make a bong or somethin', lol
Peace!

zThanks! Yeah, she sure scared them, lol, I agree, the brain is always developing, good point!SnaleSpace said:Thanks for sharing that story dude! Your wife sure knows how to spin a yarn or two .
I agree that developing brains are certainly something not to be trifled with, but I think the brain is always developing so that is why I feel the way I do.
