Market crash and new virus can cost Trumps election

Still, a downturn, however brief, & a pandemic will give Democrats hope.
But I recommend instead that they concentrate on running a better candidate.
They apparently don't have one, unless at a brokered convention they retread hillary or kerry, who might be considered by some as better.

I wish Joe would just throw in the towel. I admit that I laugh at his continued gaffes, and failed memory, but I am also saddened by it.

He is pushing 80, and every day he makes it clear his time has passed. It must be rough on his family. If he were by some miracle to get the nomination, debating Trump would make him totally incoherent. Great for me politically as a Republican, yet as a human, I would find it so sad, and something at this time of his life biden doesn't deserve.

Maybe Yang will be the surprise victor.
Oh, wait....he's under 70.

Interesting, but job creation is not the only measuring tool for an economy.

Unemployment rates by demographic, and total GDP must be included.

Most of the other metrics look pretty similar: the continuation of a trend at a roughly similar level.

If you look at the democrat nominees since Kennedy ( he was 43 I think) they have been relatively young.

This seething party of young people has two geezers as the front runners for this years nomination, Go figure.

Please, you know, as well as I, that this issue was immediately politicized by the democrats. The NY times today declares the virus "Trumps virus".
Reference?
The NY times ( one of the official democrat newspapers) today's edition.
Reference?
So, @shmogie , for a third time, can you provide a link substantiating your claim or should we simply assume that you, who persistently defends a pathological liar, are telling the truth? Seriously?

The Corona virus hits those over 70 the hardest with many deaths.
May be no candidates will survive both the vote or the virus.

A link, why don't you just find the NY times for today?

In my day, you cited a source, you didn't have to spoon feed it to someone.

Yep, I am telling a lie, you caught me. I cited a major paper, available to millions, with a totally bogus article header.

Not a smart way to fool anyone though, those who make the tiniest of efforts can shatter my chimera.

A problem is that the NYT has a paywall.
That got in the way of my search.

You are right. It was not smart. I think I'll let you continue your disingenuous dance on your own.

Against Biden or Bloomberg he may and he may win.
Against Sanders or Warren? Even Trump isn't so delusional that he thinks he has a chance.
I think it is the moderator(s) that will scare him off. Just standing in front of a journalist being asked questions that he is expected to answer (without a chopper in the background) would be enough to scare him off.

I think they let you read a certain number of articles for free if you subscribe.

*edit: by subscribe I mean give them an email. you don't have to pay.

I actually have an electronic subscription.
Access isn't working at the moment.
(I think they found out I voted for Trump.)

Yeah, not.

First people know how good the economy was before the event. Only a complete idiot is going to think it's Trump's fault people are getting sick from coronavirus.

Or a Democrat? Have you been LISTENING to Pelosi, et. al?

Secondly, it's not deadlier than influenza and we pretty much snore through that every year. Influenza kills 20-65k people a year and coronavirus isn't even close. It looks like we're having a relatively mild winter in the USA and this a going to do a hell of a lot to curb the spread as well... We're scheduled for record highs in the midwest (which I lovingly refer to as a flu-zoo) and that's going to reduce the spread drastically.

The markets will rebound off a "bottom" found when the panic is over. Just think of it as a fire-sale -- it'll be the best time to buy, lol.

Indeed. I wish I had money right now...I'd SO be buying...and wondering what the mindset is of all those idiots who are selling off!
