Massive Bernie Sanders Rally Shut Down by Black Lives Matter

It's also possible that Bernie is the low hanging fruit of the campaign, ie, he has much less

They are vandals and little more. They got their 15 minutes of fame. If the rest of the BLACK LIVES MATTER people roundly denounced them then the rest of the group might not be vandals. But what I am seeing here is Black Privilege. They confidently expect to avoid being held accountable for the damage that they did because they are black.

I'd have more respect for them if they took the fight to other more damaging groups. Say, taking the stage at a rap event and ruining it for the organizers and participants. Or the streets of south Chicago where the drug gangs run wild and kill lots of black kids.

But I have heard of no such thing, because white liberals are such soft targets. Why bother with the real problems?

I thought she did a good job of getting the message out. And I think it is fantastic that a movement like this can co-opt the huge crowds that Bernie is generating. Well done.

They could've asked. Or otherwise not acted like *********. You know, rather than storm the stage with a 73yr old man on it who could've had a heart attack. It's not like this was Donald Trump or some ****, if they'd asked they would've likely have been granted an official spot. But sure, let's pretend it's a coup attempt! That's much more fun.

It seemed like a legitimate and effective form of civil protest to me. You say they acted like "*********", but that is subjective and I don't see it that way at all. And if Bernie is that likely to have a heart attack then he really shouldn't be running for president. If this would be enough to put his life in danger he won't survive the first week if elected.

*********. They disrespected a candidate that clearly was on their side, and called the people who came to see him racists. They are a microcosm of everything wrong with this movement. They're doing nothing but shooting themselves in the foot and ruining any good-will they might've had. This is how you become the Tea Party of the Left.

There is a bit of difference between "getting reports of extremely bad situations" and "stage being stormed by small group of people".

I'm sorry, but I have to say that I think that most people still don't understand the situation and just how bad it really is. You are upset because they "disrespected" ol' Bernie? I think this completely ignores the severity of the situation. People have been killed, and lives are still endanger. I think (I hope) people are starting to wake up to the situation, but just barely. And people can fall asleep again so easily. I don't care that they disrespected Bernie. Bernie can get over it. This is not about Bernie, it is about human lives.

@Nietzsche made a very important point that you did not address.
They could've asked.
They probably would have gotten a few minutes in front of a warm crowd. Instead they pissed off a bunch of the people who would otherwise be likely allies. And not just the people who were there. All of the supporters of Sanders who wanted that event to look "presidential". Now he looks more like a hopeless liberal dweeb than ever.
I don't believe that will save any lives.

You don't go around asking the Man.
What do you think they are? House Negroes?

What I liked most is how he tried to calm them down, which only infuriated them more. Haha crazy people.

Ok, they could have asked. I don't know what the answer would have been. But I do know that sometimes protest needs to be disruptive. It can't always be just about asking politely and waiting patiently till someone gets around to thinking about justice.

This could be an opportunity for Sanders. He could take on this cause, he could define a real position and clearly state what he would do about it. And I am not just talking about some warm and fuzzy "I'm on your side guys" platitudes, I am talking about some real policy decisions. If he ends up looking like more of a liberal dweeb that will be his own fault.

But will say it again. This issue is not about Bernie! Talking about what this will do to his election chances is so totally missing the point!

It's not clear to me who's behind this disruption. Maybe someone is paying them off because they're afraid that Bernie Sanders might get the nomination, win the election and institute policies that some might not want to see. It would not be the first time that protesters were hired. This might easily be wrong, but I'm suspicious about what is going on.

Mike LemaThis is Hillary or the GOP's doing I guarantee it. Official #BLACKLIVESMATTER spokesperson apologized to Bernie on twitter and said that those people weren't affiliates of the movement. So what's really going on here? Look deeper they are scared of Bernie and want to take him down a notch without publicly smearing him because he won't participate in negative ads and smear tactics. Bernie has done more for civil rights and equality than anyone else in the race and everyone knows it.

Then don't crash his ****ing campaign speech. They made it about him whether you like it or not.

I'll buy this wasn't done by people high up in the movement. Certainly not with their consent. But to say this was some kind of "false-flag operation" is just stupid. Unless hard evidence comes to light, you're not going to convince me this was anything but people involved with BLM(or at least the wider movement) however small and/or isolated they might be.

It displayed a lack of both class and respect. They don't deserve to be taken seriously.
As for "getting the message out", everyone is already well aware of all the bumper sticker mantras.

Poor ol' Bernie can't stand up to a low info heifer but he thinks he can be president.

Then he respects her speech about the late Swisher Sweet who has since been shown to have been justifiably euthanized.

Bernie is tapping into the intellectual democratic electorate, no doubt. Unfortunately the bulk of the democratic voters fall into the category of low info/ low IQ like the one who took the mic. Voters like that don't show up for mid term elections or vote for guys with names like Bernie. They want free stuff, shiny and certainly not nonsense about free college tuition. So everyone should be realist about who is going to get the democratic nomination.
