masturbation

Masturbation is a disordered human act which
is objectively evil. It is the use of your sexuality
for purposes other than God wills. Even within
marriage masturbation is objectively evil.
Live your life as God intends and you will come
to experience true joy.
Even if we believed what you preached, what makes you think that we care what your God wills?

I can understand how anyone who believes in the Bible would be against MALE masturbation (Onan in Genesis masturbates and G-d tells him not to do it again), but there's absolutely no reference anywhere to female masturbation.
But RomCat, what about mutual masturbation within marriage? That's sexual activity between a husband and wife. Is IT "objectively evil"?

That's because females don't have to masturbate. It's easy for them to find someone to take care of their needs.

This is an unhealthy belief to hold. Stay away.

eta: Seriously, this is stupid.

What a load of bull ****.
the Onan story has absolutely NOTHING to do with masturbation.
Not one thing.

Onan was punished because he tried to thwart Gods will and not get his brothers wife pregnant.

Interesting how people twist the "inerrant, infallible, 'Word of God'" to fit their own agendas.

Worse still are the ones who promote this kind of false teaching without ever learning the truth for themselves.

Sad really.

Why?
I think girls probably know better about this. As a female, Id much rather masturbate than go and sleep around.

I second this. And guys, it's not as easy for girls as you think. There's a lot of emotional stuff that goes into sexual relationship for us. So just because there may be a lot of guys willing to....um...help out doesn't mean that we are going to take them up on it. Also I would like to know where all these guys are at......Seriously can you tell me lol

Hmmmm...well something just isn't right then...

Well for one I have aspergers so it makes it rough for me in normal circumstances to develop relationships due to poor social skills.

Other than that....I don't know.
Anyway you're not the first guy who's said this.

Maybe there is maybe there isn't.
Then again I've often felt like the black sheep among people so probably.

There are a few theories about how Atum gave birth to Tefnut and Shu. They are written in stone, but several different versions are so any of them may be true.

1) Atum masturbated to create Tefnut and Shu.

2) Atum masturbated out Tefnut and sneezed out Shu.

3) The other theory I know of does not involve masturbation and is somewhat more graphic so I will not list it in this thread.

I figure if He can masturbate so can us mortals. :) He made us in His image for a reason!

2) Atum masturbated out Tefnut and sneezed out Shu.

Reminds me of the time that I once saw a bloke in a restaurant who had a fit of sneezing and every time he sneezed he would wipe between his legs with the serviette. When I asked him why he was doing such a disgusting thing in public, he explained that he had a problem, ‘Every time he sneezed, he would ejaculate.’

After apologising to the poor fellow, I asked him if he was taking anything for the problem and he answered, Yes---- Pepper.

My mistake. I wrote earlier from a mis-remembered reading. I reread the passage. But thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt.

Onan didn't masturbate, but he did "waste his seed on the ground" by pulling out before ejaculation. The term "wasted", along with Rashi's commentary, leads us to believe that if sperm is used for anything outside of attempting to make a baby (see below), it's wasted and G-d is displeased.

Note: Rashi tells us in his commentary on the preceeding verse that Er, Onan's brother and Tamar's first wife, did exactly the same thing so as not to impregnate Tamar and thereby make her less beautiful (where he got the idea that she'd be less beautiful is another question...). From this, Rashi says we can know that G-d sees that if sperm doesn't end up trying to impregnate a woman, it's going against the commandment to be fruitful and multiply.

Now, that's NOT to say that infertile couples shouldn't still have sex. After all, there were biblical gals who conceived after years of being infertle. (Plus, there are other commandments that tell married people to have sex and the sages say they have precedence.) Sorry for the tangent, but I really don't want to get jumped on.

wow.
Now that is a stretch if I ever heard of one.

Good god man, there are like 613 rules already in the OT, why would anyone want yet another one?
