Maybe this will clear some confusion

Let me clear up some confusion some seem to have with their assumptions about me..

I am just an ole country boy living life for what its worth. Some say we only live once, I say BS we live everyday, we only die once so live your life to be happy.

If you don't meddle in my life, I won't meddle in yours.

I am not republican nor democrat. Don't particularly like either.

I am not religious but also don't know what's out there.

I don't care about your race, gender, sexual preferences, political stance, wealth(or lack of), size of your house, your religion(or lack of), your education(or lack of) or whatever. How we get along depends on you as much as it does on me

You treat me right you will get the same in return.

If you kick me, be prepared to get kicked back.

Respect is a two ways street.

Your reputation is what others think you are. Your character shows who you are.

With that said.... However if you can't show respect and support for the American flag, the vets -past, present and future and those that have died for you, the sacrifices they made for you to have the rights that you have, I won't support one damn thing you think is important.

I must admit I don’t really show any deference to the American Flag. But to be fair that’s because I’m Australian lol. But I will show respect to army vets and indeed our countries are allies.
I think despite our disagreements, you and I could get along quite well irl
A few cold drinks shared (even non alcoholic if that’s your preference) and a nice BBQ and hey presto you and I could be potentially good mates lol

It may provide further perspective to consider that some of those glorified as "veterans" by a subset of Americans represent unjustified wars, death, and suffering to many in other countries such as Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

I sympathize with those who were forced to fight in wars they had no business being in and opposed whether on ethical or political grounds. However, I will never glorify the actions they were forced to carry out in countries like Iraq where the American invasion left half a million dead and many more in sorrow and trauma. After World War II, American soldiers have much more often died in unnecessary wars of aggression than in defense of American civilians or for noble causes.

I don't care about your [...] gender [or] sexual preferences.... How we get along depends on you as much as it does on me.

I would argue that you do care about these two, given how many posts you make mentioning LGBT stuff.

But I guess you're right, you don't seem like the kind of person who'd be generally rude to a person simply for being gay or trans. While you have opinions I don't agree with on those topics, I respect that you probably wouldn't use them against me if we were discussing an entirely separate issue.

Considering that these issues do seem to weigh heavily on your mind, though, I have to ask. Is it difficult for you to separate your feelings about LGBT issues from your feelings about an LGBT person you are speaking with? Do you think that perspective is influencing how you see their other attributes and opinions? How does an LGBT person go about leaving you alone, and letting you live your own life? How do you separate their inability to suddenly not be LGBT in your presence from the idea that they may be pushing it on you?

Mind you, I too wouldn't bring this up if it weren't for the fact that you mention gender and sexuality in your OP. So please don't count it against me as I mention it again. I just want to understand your mentality better.

"I would argue that you do care about these two, given how many posts you make mentioning LGBT stuff."

I don't have any problem with them. However if i didn't include them in my OP post some would accuse me of being bias, a hater, a homophobe, etc. Yeah that's reality.

They don't weigh on my mind. I don't even think about them until its shoved in my face. There is no seperating the issues from the person. They go hand in hand. My perspective is live and let live.

"How does an LGBT person go about leaving you alone, and letting you live your own life? How do you separate their inability to suddenly not be LGBT in your presence from the idea that they may be pushing it on you?"

Live and let live. Its pretty simple. I don't expect them to not be LGBT in my presence anymore than they expect me not to be straight in their presence.

"Mind you, I too wouldn't bring this up if it weren't for the fact that you mention gender and sexuality in your OP."

Again if they aren't included, then I must not see them as people and hate them.

I like guns and own several. Some will say I am a gun nut.
I ride horses. Some will say I am an animal abuser.
I hunt several things for food. Some will say I am cruel to animals.
Etc etc. I dont care. They dont live my life, I don't ask them to live like me and
I don't need their approval.

Not many people that go to war want to.
Not much good comes from war. War=death.

I have no respect for any flag.

Not too keen on artists glorifying wars they never fought in, in order to sell their music tbh. I wonder how many young men have been persuaded to go and die miles from home, for a purpose never explained to them, after listening to a song like that?

This my uncle Jack by the way, over 100 years ago, different flag, different continent, same patriotic fervour. He came home from the trenches mentally and emotionally destroyed.

I thought by now you knew.
Yeah, why not? 335.5 million people. I cannot expect respect for my country if I do not respect other countries. Reciprocal.

Not many artist sing songs based on about their personal experiences.
It doesn't take away from their music.

Cool pic.

"Not too keen on artists glorifying wars they never fought in"

I'm not to keen on presidents that never served ordering troops to war.
