The most amazing statement he made, while talking about "we're going to hold the swamp accountable," is that they will include investigating the origin of COVID.

Can anybody tell me what Biden was doing when COVID came along? Who was President? Was Biden in government?

That ought to be a real winner for these morons! o_O

I'm pretty sure Joe was in Wuhan and was the cause of the virus being created, and accidently released. All the evidence is on Hunter's laptop, and the only reason Joe ran for president is to lead a massive coverup, along with the corrupt MSM. This is why the Dems had to manufacture election fraud and get Trump out so he could be falsely accused of crimes he didn't do.

Republicans..."Our first bill will repeal funding for 87,000 new IRS agents."

Corporate policy. Republicans protecting crooked corporations and the elite. This would help the 1% continue to evade paying taxes. Leaving the burden on the middle and lower classes.

You get what you vote for
You think those 87,000 IRS agents are to target "fat cats"? Get real. They are to keep the hoi polloi in line.

Get real? This way of thinking is the same as protesting more cops setting up speed traps to catch people speeding. You seem to think it's OK to speed and cops enforcing speed limits will affect the average driver unfairly. The thing is some will speed believing they will get away with it, and gripe that the cops dare enforce the law. Others are typically obedient but will make a mistake on occassion, and it's bad luck.

First, this is all right wing propaganda. Second, are you suggesting the hoi polloi get away with tax cheating if they want to? Third, it isn't 87,000 agents, it is 87,000 employees, which includes more agents to investigate fraud, more people offering customer service for filers to get answers, and more workers to process the filings so refunds can be returned faster. As has been noted there has been a huge wait time for people calling the IRS to get advice and answers to questions. Fourth, does the resistance to more employees mean republicans support tax fraud?

The right wing keeps saying these agents will target average mom and pop businesses. Well if they are cheating on taxes they will be targeted for fraud, and is there a problem when people are cleared or caught? Taxes are owed as a matter of law, and if laws are broken then there is accountability to be had. If republicans are so concerned about the average person why did their last tax cuts favor the wealthy so much? Why don't they pass a law that protects low wage tax payers from audits, and only allow audits on the wealthy who can afford tax lawyers? Why not cut tax rates even more for the average citizen and raise them on the wealthy? Why can Trump get away with a tax rate of .04% while the average citizens is stuck with a rate around 20%?

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
One of the new rules being adopted by the Macarthy House, no more transparency through the press, now only one camera feed will be allowed, government authorized.
C-SPAN confirmed its cameras were no longer in the House chamber as a new rules package was debated and passed on Monday night. Coverage of House proceedings has returned to being run through government feeds.
House Democrat planning legislation to allow C-SPAN cameras free range in chamber | ABC27
True. We will miss all the entertainment that Democrats have provided over the years through intelligent, educated, and well informed representation.

Congratulations to McCarthy. May his tenure be as long lived and notable as Pelosi was.

I'll miss the wicked witch. However actual work needs to be done.
Right, like passing a ban on live abortions that solves a problem that doesn't exist.

Now McCarthy wants to retry Trump's impeachments? How is that useful of Congress's time?

Where is the work to lower inflation?

Funny you say that.

Biden is still president from what I hear. And yep, when are they actually going to start doing something useful ?

Once Biden remembers where he put all his stuff first. That could take awhile.

Nada, so how did you get this from what I wrote?

You seemed to think that the election of Kevin to the Speaker of the House is unfinished business, but the reality is that Kevin has been elected to Speaker of the House. There's no point in denying it.

I didn't deny that, but he does have to tread on some very thin ice, let me tell ya, and that involves catering to the five MAGA fanatics/election-deniers that just got sworn in.
