To most I'm a heretic I guess. Funny word, that. Seems the best definition I can find for it is, "I speak for God and you don't agree with me". Well, I guess if you are of the Church of Rome, you have a more concrete definition, but RCC folks rarely call me a heretic.
I was raised SBC. At a point in life I had to defend my faith, and as a result of years of debate, and research, I had to change my views to suit scripture.
SO, I'm really interested in the exegetics. Unfortunately we often see emotional chats. I guess I really challenge folks and they take it personal. If you are offended having your faith challenged, and can't defend it, what, really, do you have? I want to be challenged. That's how I learn. I'm much less interested in being right, than I am in getting it right.
I'm here to challenge and be challenged. Thus the catalyst part of my name.
I'm a real stickler for wanting to see a solution in scripture that doesn't take lots of fancy word play.
I'm a cut up. At work and home, both environments are full of playful jabbing and teasing, sarcasm and hyperbole. We go at each other all the time. Unfortunately I carry that through to conversations and in text it's not always so easy to discern. So, when I seem a total "under the donkey's tail" to you, please ask or slap me, or call me names so I can make my thought more clear.
Even if you make me angry, I don't resort to personal ad homs. I don't get angry but about once a year either, but that's an example of Hyperbole.
My faith, is based solely on the Bible, and not bizarre or fancy teachings. I've actually had to change my views SEVERAL times on many subjects based on what I learned biblically. Truly a case of working out your own.... theology. As a result I can defend where I'm at and why I'm there. If you think I'm a crazy nut, that's ok, it's even ok to tell me as much, BUT, be prepared to back it up. ONE of us is less right than the other there. The idea of a forum like this is to work through things together and both learn something.
I have the spiritual gift of agitation.
If iron rubs on iron, that is called agitation. There's no sharpening without it.
