The way I've learned technique in meditation is via the labels 'Calm abiding(concentration/samantha) and Insight(vipassana). Both are one in meditation.

Well you are very blessed to have anything close to a samadhi experience. I honestly can say I have not had a samadhi experience. If I did I probably wouldn't be writing this lol. I would be in samadhi all the time. I've had very blissful meditations and a few superconscious experiences but not the shocking and enlightening experience of God through samadhi. Your whole perception on life would change from a narrow ego to God consciousness.

Yes attachments and everything that keeps you emotionally drawn to this world is what holds you back from expanding from your ego to God. Fortunately if you are close and your body and consciousness is suited to experience this shock it can melt away you ego. This first samadhi is called Savikalpa Samadhi. You can still fall back to ego consciousness until you experience Nirvikalpa samadhi where complete oneness happens.

About the Frubals look at the link called User CP. It will show you who gave the frubals to you and what comment they gave you. Along with any you have given out.

Thanks KY. I wouldn't know what words to call such things. I had to go through quite a bit of other people's versions and names before I found the technique that worked for me the best. I have noted such names that you and others are using because so far many things I've seen seems spot on with the same truths or paths thereof.

For me, it's always the same thing. I project the awareness and feelings of one hand into the very center of my being or in the third eye chakra area. I continue to increase concentration and attention of my hand until everything else can be calmly observed, reflected upon and dissolved. I let go of everything else, via the normal, everyday thinking program of attachment. The feelings of the hand projected helps sustain an inner awareness and detatchment. At this point, chi energy starts its presence and various subconscious images or visions unfold into clear sight. Many times, aside from the static electricity sensations in the body, it will resemble a wavy snowy television screen in front of the closed eyes.

What I have discovered from this is another truth. The more one builds upon their concentration and focus, through meditation, the more they usually effortlessly manifest (or syncronize theirself with) whatever they need or desire. All of it is effortless and natural on maintaining a higher level of concentration or focus.

Daily, many people operate on very little mental concentration or focus, no puns intended. When they develope a daily routine of raising such, they will get quite a difference in return from the outside World. I thought I would share.... IMO.

I believe concentration and meditation are not the same.
Meditation is done to concentrate the Conciousness,
Conciousness cannot concentrate because of mind.

Concentration i believe is to limit our thoughts and bring attention to one particular point, there is an involvement of mind in this process.
Disinvolvement of the mind is called Concentration.
Mind itself is not concious.

Meditation is a state of pure consciousness with no content. There is involvement of mind.
Meditation is the process to reach the state of concentrated consciousness or stilling mind.

Definitely, Concentration is the path to meditation. From concentration we fall into meditation, there is no forced effort in this.
Why are you using the "word" Definitely whereas in the above lines you was using the "word" Believe. ?

I find that a cold beer, a Big Mac and a cigarette help tremendously preceding meditation.

Failing that, staying well-hydrated and doing light stretching immediately prior tends to help me. :)

Concentration has more to do with developing a focus whereas meditation is by which a persons focus no longer needs "tending" to such as found in shikantaza during zazen.
