Methods of Divination

What method do you prefer and why, if you care to share? I can't say I've found "my" form yet. I use tarot more than anything, but also use pendulums, Native American medicine cards, gypsy witch cards, and runes.

I'd say I mainly use tarot and the pendulum.

How often do you practice divination? For me, it's generally on or around the full moon.

As much as i'd like to think of divination as seeing into the future (or possible futures) I tend to think of it more as helpful advice. For this reason I tend to favour runes and tarot as both offer solutions to problems rather than simply presenting a possible scenario.

Tarot and runes... and whatever seems right at the time. I've been doing a daily draw before I go into work, when I remember. I find that it's actually pretty accurate, which is kinda scary.

My main problem with tarot is the symbolism can be pretty vague. I guess that leaves more room for interpretation/intuition. And as a grad student, I have neither the time nor the brain cells right now to try and memorize what every card means. So I keep my tarot bible handy...

The Gypsy Witch cards are cool but kind of scary. There's a card in the deck that if drawn literally says you'll die young. But I don't take these particular cards too seriously, as the "prediction" they forecast last time was wrong.

I do agree with Shyanekh that divination's more about finding advice than getting an accurate glance into the future. I think the tarot cards are a useful tool at psychological self-exploration, if anything.

I've been working with the tarot for almost 5 years now, I still keep the book handy because I haven't memorized them.. Same with the runes. But I'm finding with the daily draw that I get to learn either a new one every day or I remember one that I've learned in a previous day. It helps me..

I use tarot and oracle cards. I probably *should* be using runes as they're my pantheon's "specialty" but I'm very visual so I find it easier to work with cards.

Although, I can't seem to do in-person readings for anyone besides myself! I've had a lot of success with reading for others online. Most of the time I do fun readings for characters my friends have created for play-by-post roleplaying games, so far I've been scarily accurate.

Tarot of Paris. The past year, I've used them twice; asking the cards questions about myself. Divining the self rather than the future. Cards are archetype, I'm agency shuffling the deck; there is no reason why they should not do accurate modeling, but there is no future. ;)

Finding symbolism to be significant is the best magic of all. :)
