Milk and Chocolate

Aqualung

Why do they taste so good together? Is is just conditioning, where I got so used to hearing that milk and chocolate taste good together that I just subconciously was forced to like it, or is there some actual chemical reason behind it?

I would say it's totally social conditioning. Go to Africa and you can get a nice warm cup of goats blood and milk mixed together. Yummy!

Not sure Alton Brown has covered that question specifically yet, but I'll keep watching just to be sure.

Till some Swiss confectioner mixd milk in with his chocolate, the two were never mixed.
Really good quality plain chocolate is even nicer, Just hard to find and expensive.

I actually prefer milk chocolate (my favourite is Cadbury's), but before I came to England, all I knew was dark chocolate - and thought Cadbury's was wierd; you get used to things.............. Chocolate and apples go well together.:bounce

My wife keeps telling me how much better the chocolate in Europe is compared to the US. I'll have to go some time and try it out.

You will find it hard to find in England we have a milk chocolate much like yours.
Belgium France Switzerland and Germany are famous for the real thing.

But the good stuff is very expensive, but worth it.

I ate chocolate, but I didn't have any milk, and it just didn't work very well. (By the way, I prefer dark chocolate to milk chocolate. I rarely eat milk chocolate anyway, so it wasn't #1)

Why isn't there a 'completely disgusted' icon? :areyoucra Eeww, AL! Eww!

I like milk chocolate... I'm not much for cocoa. The less there is in the chocolate, the better.

Chocolate milk first became popular by a biologist by the name of Dr. Ovaltine who tried unsuccessfully to breed a brown cow with a white cow.
