Mohammad in the Bible

Levite

Higher and Higher
seeking4truth,
Muhammad, the one who began the Islam, or Muslim religion is not mentioned in the Bible. The reason for this is; Muhammad did not come on the scene until 632AD, which was 500 and some years after the Bible was completed.

More like 800 or 900 years, but who's counting?

Does anyone know where in the Bible the name/word 'Muhammad' is recorded.
I believe it has been translated as 'altogether beautiful'

Peace upon the truth seekers.
To answer the above question we need to start from the beginning of the bible but before i commence i would like to state that we in Islam do not take the bible as a source of faith since the Noble Quraan is considered as the last revelation or final testament in its most complete and accurate form.we in Islam take a strong reservation concerning the incorporation of human errors in the revelations as originally and purely given to the Prophets of the past before the appearance of Prophet Mehammad(PBBUH).
On the other hand we cannot reject the bible completely because one of our articles of faith is to believe in all the Prophets and all the Holy Books in their original form as revealed by the past Prophets.Today non of the Holy Books exist in their original form but non the less the available books are not 100% fabricated.Hence there are portions that are still intact. The question now arises how do we in Islam distinguish between the verses that are still intact and those fabricated. Its very simple because what we do is look for verses in the OT and NT that is consistent with in the Noble Quraan. Those verses that are consistent we regard as still intact.Any verse that contradicts the Noble Quraan we regard as human interpretations.
Hence a verse from the Noble Quraan that confirms that Prophet Muhammad(PBBUH) is mentioned in the OT and NT.
Sura 7 verse 157
"Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful".

The above verse confirms that he is mentioned in the OT and NT and as Muslims in Islam we need to look to these books for evidence.Note any Christian and Jew have difficulty in accepting the evidence that i will provide then as Muslims in Islam we do understand.
Note this is a very long subject and i need to start from the beginning and that is from the Book of Genesis.
Stay tuned because the first evidence will be extreamly interesting.
Peace
Farouk
