Moral Implications of Modern Psychology

Modern psychology tells us being positive within and without are what makes us happy.

Interacting with loved ones positively, even people you don't know. The more altruistic the action, like giving $100 to a bum, the greater the reward.

Eating healthily and otherwise taking care of the body takes care of the mind and happiness as well.

Using those strengths you have that are universally accepted like humor, generosity, leadership, spirituality increases your happiness much if done everyish day or more.

As we enjoy our material things if we don't recharge the feeling and the body (the body and the mind) we will harm ourselves. in at least some small way. This damage is not preferable, but more research is needed in this area to say whether that is actually a bad thing.

We need to focus on the other as well. The more other oriented we are the more happy we are.

And so on and so on.

This is what all the old prophets are trying to get at "Good thoughts, words and deeds (Zarathustra)" "Love your neighbor as you do you (Jesus)", Maat. It is all accomplished by everyone knowing what makes them happy and striving toward that maximum self. This can be helped with a routine I formed based on psychology.

You should wake up and meditate 11 minutes, with finger tapping, EDMR, humming/chanting/singing/whistling and other easily done while meditating therapies including progressive muscle relaxation. Do as many as make you feel you're where you should be. Then do 20 minutes of moderate exercise. This could be a short bike ride, this could be any more than normal levels of strenuousness. Eat some fruit. go about your day. You'll have a solid foundation.

I discovered it on my journey to check religion with science.

I've learned there's a difference between happiness and tranquility. What a great understanding... even later in life it's not too late to understand that tranquility will carry you through happiness, unhappiness, and everything between.

More over:

The "judgement" of the Goddess, the Quantum Foam behind everything, comes both instantly, as bad mental health including the necessary for human life brain chemistry boost of molecules that make your cells kill themselves, and continually compounding damage to the world as bad moods are catchy and do more damage than you understand, however all that bad does Goddess healthy when it's not too much. Everything in the proper proportion, not going for a middle but something more like a golden ratio.

When we oil our machinery, regularly, it works a lot better for us and it lasts a lot longer.

This should not surprise anyone, but yet it often does. I don't know why. We humans are so easily distracted and confused. We get so focused on what we want that we forget what we need. What we like is so much more important to us than what is good for us. How oddly irrational that is. And yet consistent.

I can be distracted and confused, but I think it comes more from just things that bother me, that hang in my attention, and me not being able to always get past that. Like for example, I want to spend the next two hours reading a book, but I keep thinking about problems that I have. Maybe its work problems, or political questions, or social media garbage, or family dynamic issues that I've had. So then, I just lay here lethargically, and do nothing, and wait until my shift starts

Dude, do this: read less than five minutes. Then build up from there, even just a page at a time

I personally experiment with breathing meditation and cold exposure, though this probably isn't for everyone, and probably something that you should get professional advice on doing. This is what I do though. It can seem to alter my mood, if I do these things properly. I haven't done it yet today, because I feel fairly lazy right now. I'll probably take a walk soon and put on a podcast.. if I can't focus on reading, then oftentimes I can still focus on a podcast. Then I'll come back and do the routine, before I go to work

Any therapy done right is good for you, understanding that to each his own is a real phenomena. Even drugs are therapeutic when taken the right way. Same amount, same time each time you take them. Or even better yet, discipline. Letting the next instance being far from the last instance, giving your body time to recover. I treat trauma with weed, legally. Not that you should do drugs.

I think it happens to us all. It's why we need to practice at paying attention and staying focused.
