I'm guessing, no jealousy either.

Jealousy seems to cause more problems in monogamous relationships, IME. The poly people I know are very patient and communicative, so when jealousy does arise it's discussed - sometimes over the course of weeks, or months - until it is resolved. Everybody agrees on the boundaries, and people are very considerate of one another.

I respect poly people greatly, but I'm monogamous myself because I don't have the patience or the inclination to discuss my feelings for hours on end, which is what is needed for poly relationships to work. Also I'm too selfish: the appeasement of my own sexual insecurity matters more to me than my partner's complete happiness and fulfilment.

I have also to surmise that you haven't a clue as to what morality is all about and what our God requires of us. You are lost in your own knowledge... the only ones that like make it complicated are those who want to justify their evil deeds...
Look, there is no god, OK? So going about and calling people "lost" or saying that they are justifying their "evil deeds" is not only meaningless, it's mean both in the sense of being unkind and in the sense of being small or minute.

It just bugs the heck out of me that people who live in a dream world where mythology is greater than reality have the nerve to judge other people based on their particular myth. If you can't be reasonable, at least be civil. If you can't be either, what benefit can any of your words have?

My comment was with free spirit , not that I don't welcome your comments as well. You have taken my point out of context. My efforts are to use knowledge and facts using modern as well as the history of Christian thought to dispel "that old time religion."

I was in a discussion with a literalist. I fully suspect that he is where your comment should have been directed.

I agree with your comment.

Who thought that?!

Actually Saint Thomas Aquinas stated that incest and rape were less sinful than masturbation. For him any sex that did not involve reproduction was anathema against God; as such masturbation, coitus interruptus, and oral sex were all abominations akin to heresy and murder.

I find his philosophical and theological argumentation thought provoking, but Aquinas makes Paul the Apostle look positively liberal on issues of sex. So I have serious reservations whenever someone cites him in an argument about morality.

My apologies. Nice deflection. I hope it hit the right target. :)
