More lack of support and empathy for Vets

It will come down to violence. The civil war conservatives keep talking about would likley happen, much like 1860 where the conservatives split from the USA because they did not value human rights and had an immoral economic system that required exploitation of enslaved workers. The war today would be waged by conservatives against those who work to maintain democracy and valid elections, and against law enforcement. It won't just be the threats like we see today, they will act if they believe the government won't prosecute.

All the more reason not to allow this Republican Party to take control.

I don't know if there will be a civil war, but if there is it will be all the more violent and long lasting if the Republicans are in power when it begins.

Unlike 1860, today the Federal government will be able to shutdown an insurrection pretty quickly, unless the Federal government is on the side of the insurrection.
