more right-wing with age?

I remember reading on the bath houses in those regions(from their Pre-Christian perspectives) and finding that fascinating. They seem different than the 'steam closets' I'm accustomed to.
Yeah it's a big thing over there, every city and town has them. The rich Russians have them in their homes. They don't do the leaping in the snow or ice cold water after a sauna, like some of the Scandinavians do, not in Siberia, you will die. lol

Lightly seared on the reality grill.
The housing market is weirdly, one of the main reasons. Young people no longer turn into fiscally conservative home owners.
Yes, that probably has something to with it. Not for me, though, because I became a home owner and more left-wing. I also think Brexit was a factor. The majority of younger people voted remain and are much more pro-EU. Brexit is seen as right-wing.

Yes the kids have seen the sunny uplands promised by the Brexiteers, and they're not impressed. Shortages, food poverty, rising crime, endemic homelessness, civil unrest and high inflation and low productivity and decreasing exports etc...
The harvest of Tory rule.

I definitely have. The more I see how modern capitalism operates the less I like it. These days, I have little faith in the capitalist free market model. Practically none.
My opinion of markets has changed a good bit as I've got older. They are pretty useful when it comes to setting prices and distributing consumer goods.

"Free markets" doesn't refer to a real thing, it is just a piece of dull sloganeering that roughly means "I should have no responsibilities despite the priveleges society grants me". The only capitalists who believe in "free markets" are the ones who don't know what capitalism is.

Thank you for revealing your ignorance of economic terminology and definitions. Not that I care what you misunderstand. Why even reply to me, with such transparently triggered right winger crap? Ignore time for you I imagine.

Well, "triggered right winger" is a new one.

Ok, enjoy the forums.

As you've grown older have you become more right-wing?

It is often said that this is what usually happens but I'm not actually sure it does...

However, I most certainly have

I used to be a Communist but now I'm a Social Democrat

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that people become less left-wing as they grow older?

I used to be insanely left wing when I first started considering politics in my late teens. I think I actually went beyond communism and identified with anarchy and some kind of nihilistic hedonism or hedonistic nihilism by my early 20s.

Then I started to swing hard to the right after college for a number of reasons. Specifically because I was observing that the left had gone way too far in the social sphere in western society and the gripes that I held in my younger years had practically been resolved as far as I was concerned.

Now that I'm in my early 30s and suffering from a lot of discontentment that results from the consequences of my own personal actions and the rapid changes in the world around me, I'm learning - through therapy mind you - to settle down and not let political stuff hook me too hard.

I have my beliefs but they're mostly regarding defending the truth in a society where disinformation has become a massive problem. I'm also very anti-nannystatism, which I think falls on the moderate right?

I've also concluded that the left-right political spectrum is very problematic to say the least and my beliefs are kind of sprinkled all over it.

For that's worth.

Beware of cognitive hazards, like conspiracy manufacturers and propaganda merchants, such as that UK YouTube moron, Russel Brand.

What's your beef with Brand?
His vaccine denialism, his pro Russian stance on Ukraine, his consistent attacks on Joe Biden, his platforming of various Alt right fantasies. His sexual predatory behaviors, his scarcely concealed support for Trump, his narcissism, his weird cult leader hand gestures and his eyes, which are horrible, all wide eyed and manic. In short, I think he is revolting, a cognitive hazard and freakish weirdo.

Well said!

He's a narcisist
Can't stand him. My mate thinks he's great, always trying to show me his podcasts, I keep telling them, don't play that creep in my presence. He is vile, but without fail, I end up hearing his irritating voice. As if I am going to change my mind about Brand anytime soon.

I'm beyond the outdated and stifling "right vs. left" dynamic and have been since I was a teen in the 2000s. I don't fit into mainstream Anglo political definitions.
