I'd visit Chicago. It has 2.7 million people, and I can practically guarantee I would not be shot. Drugs are a huge problem, just like they are everywhere. Things aren't perfect, but 50 per 2.7 million people is fairly low. It is better than locking up anyone who might possibly shoot somebody and throwing people into jail willy nilly.

Yeah, that's only 16.6 people shot per day. Less than 1 1/2 per hour. No biggie. And it isn't like they all took place at a single site, like a terrorist attack.

Try and remember what the opening post is about, which is taking pot-shots at our way of life. Chicago is a wonderful city. USA is an awesome country. Although some people are murdered in Chicago the public is working to fix that, and there is discussion about it and action being taken. That is why a statistic is provided as public knowledge -- so that we can work to fix the problem. Its not like there is pandemonium in the streets. There is a responsive and respectful police force that serves and does not rule Chicago. Free people are mostly self-regulating, and I doubt that any theocracy could make a better city than Chicago. Snooty dictators, nobility and theocrats do a good job of keeping their statistics secret, but I wouldn't want to live in their cities which are historically much more dangerous places.

And I'm not surprised about the reactions from the anti-gun-nuts who don't have a clue what the real problem is. The real problem is not the gun but the problem behind the gun, which it seems that the anti-gun crowd really doesn't care about. Funny that the cities with the major homicide statistics are governed by Democrats. Thus from this it could be deduced that Democrat's policies cause gang related homicides.
