Mormom Hate, it Grinds my gears

Is it just me or does it seem like there is alot of mormon hate and anti-mormon threads?

I don't see any other religion getting bashed so openly like this. It's annoying.

When you dish it out, you better expect it back.

I've noticed that you haven't exactly been kind to the other religions as well, calling them false and not true. So if you expect to act like that, expect it back.

On the other hand, yes, I've noticed it as well, it does happen. You'll learn to live with it after awhile.

The come around every couple of months or so. It'll die down, and the forum will get quite boring for a while. Then a new batch will sign on... lather, rinse, repeat.

I've grown quite bored with the whole process. At this point I'm just scanning the threads to see if DeepShadow, Katzpur or Comprehend have posted anything interesting. In this scan something else may catch my eye, but not usually enough to get me to post.

The fruit of man is the most precious to Him. Continue to produce good fruit and the Lord will bless you and the world will hate (envy) you.
People want a sign and still don't know that the vacuum in their heart was created by God and only He can fill it.
Rejoice in your persecution.

I must admit, I agree with becky on this one. I have no problem with any religion so to speak, however madhatter you seem a little on the cold side to me.
For me to say that is hard for I like everyone on RF. But I feel you find little compassion for others that is hard for me.

Kiwi Latter-day Saint
It is something that we Latter-day Saints should expect and accept. Just 3 things[out of many] that Jesus said:

"Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake."
(Luke 6:22)

"Ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. (Luke21:17)

"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you." (John 15:18-19)

Also the Apostle John wrote : "Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you." (1John 3:13).

Putting up with the world's hatred of us is part and parcel of what makes the majority of Latter-day Saints strong in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, there are those who fall away, because they have come up against something they cannot reconcile with in their belief in Christ and the gospel as taught by the LDS Church, whether through books, films, online, "ministries" or whatever. Some may have been strong once and then become weak, and others may never have been strong in the faith, and have fallen away because of listening to those who are against us, rather than turn to God.

Other religions such as the JW also get a bashing, but the LDS faith outranks them all. The world is more fearful of us than them!

Finally, another quote from the Lord Jesus:

"Blessed are ye when men sahll revile you and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsly, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." (Sermon on the Mount - Matthew 5:11-12)

All Of the Beatitudes are relevant to the Mormon position.

The Beatitudes as sung by the monks of Glenstal Abbey

Amen! Truly I say to you: Gather in my name. I am with you. Solo

Amen! Truly I say to you: Gather in my name. I am with you.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, the kingdom of heaven is theirs.

Blessed are the gentle, they shall inherit the land

Blessed are those who morn, they shall be consoled.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice. The justice of God shall be theirs.

Amen! Truly I say to you: Gather in my name. I am with you.

Blessed are the merciful, mercy shall be shown unto them.

Blessed are the pure of heart, they shall behold their God.

Blessed are those who bring peace, they shall be children of God

Blessed are those who suffer in the cause of right, the kingdom of heaven is theirs.

Amen! Truly I say to you: Gather in my name. I am with you.

I'm sorry, but I cannot agree with that statement. There's no empirical evidence that our suffering "outranks them all." Further, I am certain there are plenty of religions that, subjectivly, experience worse than us.

All religions can suffer greatly, when practised where they are outlawed or despised by the authorities.

Now think about what is going through a Catholic's head when you say that the Pope is the anti-Christ. Maybe you don't see it because (from my observation), you're the one doing the open bashing on other religions. I think this would be a good opportunity to look in a mirror and realize how you might make others feel.

It's true, pro-LDS posts tend to bring forth certain reactions but perhaps it's because it's such an interesting subject ;) Regardless, I think any angry responses have a lot to do with the way a post is written. It's so easy to be blunt and tactless when trying to give a simple, straight-forward answer, or when trying to be totally honest, but we should all remember that people have a harder time listening/reading when our words aren't more tactful.
