It’s important to approach these ancient sources with care and not draw unfair conclusions.

@jhonsteve111
How do you learn about these ancient sources with care and not draw unfair conclusions? What are fair and unfair conclusions?

The name Hyksos means shepherds, and they were originally a branch of the ancient Canaanites

@GoodAttention
What word in Tamil would be shepherds, and yet who were the Canaanites in 1900 BCE?

Yes, Manetho’s writings are often viewed as an early source of antisemitism, but his accounts are mostly historical interpretations mixed with myths.

@jhonsteve111
What causes some past writings to be mixed with myths, and how did these myths continue and not be forgotten?

This is the word for shepherd

மேய்ப்பன்

mēyppaṉ n. மேய்²-. 1.Herdsman, shepherd, grazier; இடையன்.

It is an Interesting question, because I believe the Tamils did not differentiate between a sheep and a goat, and I think this is because in ancient times both animals were kept together? Need to confirm this.

Another word I find interesting

அப்பர்

appar n. 1. Ram, he-goat; ஆணாடுஉதளு மப்பரும் . . . யாட்டின்கண்ணே (தொல். பொ.602).

Appar, or Abir, which sounds very close to Abram.
