motifs of possesion

For some reason I really feel drawn and inspired by motifs and themes of possession, communion and melding with something.

Does anyone know what I mean? I mean, I've been witness to a possession or two, if i confess. As for myself I've felt possessed by my own consuming passion for creation, Satan and the power of darkness and of my goddesses and lord Shiva.

Maybe what I'm talking about might be more accurately described as being "enraptured by", or bathed in. Not sure.

Any of ya'll know what I'm talking about? Can anyone say the same?

That’s interesting. How do you know when you’re being possessed?

Thinking about it, inspiration might be a better word. It feels like a creative inspiration, but it's not creative in nature, does that make sense? It's a hard sensation to describe. I feel like I've become a part of something, or something has become a part of me.

Maybe the word "possess" just rings with me symbolically. One could say that artists are possessed by ideas or moods, some writers say the characters dictate things, some artists say that the paintbrush/pencil ect moves almost as if on it's own accord.

It's really like being extremely in a zone, a mindset and state. Perhaps I should describe it more as a type of nondual state where one force/side of those two melding things is dominant rather than possession.

It's because of that threesome with Lilith, isn't it?

Shh :D

Hm, also occurred to me but sometimes when "possessed" things talk to me... like spirits or what not.

Something more literally like possession, I've allowed specific spirits I'm aligned to to take control of me but I can always "override" it and am pretty much conscious of everything going on at that moment. I've done this to converse, get advice or information from or give information/divination/advice to others. It's similar to invoking but something else, I usually can cause them with certain invocations if I speak them and focus on the spirit for a moment. They usually answer unless they are busy or don't want to. Sometimes thinking about it and focusing is enough to cause it.

An interpretation of this process that I've come to in studying other types of theism is to understand that many of our day-to-day experiences are the gods literally flowing through us. Many of the gods in the Greek pantheon, for example, are personified deifications of human emotions or experiences. In today's world, when we experience fear we'll just say "I'm fearful" but we could just as easily say "I'm Phobos." Deifying these experiences recognizes that they have a life of their own; we can feel controlled by them like they are some force separate from ourselves. "Possession" is a word we could use, but the negative connotations of that word make it a bit awkward, I think.
