Definitely Vangelis: Blade Runner, Chariots of Fire, Conquest Of Paradise, Opera Sauvage, Antarctica.
I like many things by Morricone but my favourite is The Mission. Absolutely sublime!

I like to listen to classical music
I especially like it when used in movie scores, eg,
A Clockwork Orange, 2001 A Space Odyssey,
The Hudsucker Proxy, Apocalypse Now (not to be
confused with Porklips Now...a different movie).

Yes. Also Platoon.
Alien & Aliens have really memorable scores.
Not that the others aren't great, but these 2 stuck with me.

Yes, in movies the music sounds different.
I like Carter Burwell's work.

Not my thing, but my husband's favorites are John Williams, Danny Elfman, Howard Shore, Philip Glass. I am sure I am missing some.
There are so many good ones.
Btw, I think John Williams does an extraordinary job matching music to
the movie, but I find that independent of the movie, it doesn't appeal.
Many say he's the greatest of all time...I don't argue against that.
But the favorites I've cited must pass the test of wanting to hear
their music even without context.

So many great composers.
This one is a guy who doesn't come to mind,
but just listen to this stellar classic. It's been
re-used often cuz it's so wonderful & evocative.
As usual, I judge a score primarily by being
listenable independent of the movie.
This is just a personal preference.
I won't presume to judge & rank composers
by any attempted objective standard. I don't
believe there can be one.
