I watched Twilight perhaps 6 times.
I loved Lord of The Rings but usually fast forward when it gets to the Golem. 4 times.
I'm watching Two Thousand Twelve. 5 times.
I've watched Arrival too many times to know.
Russian Sci Fi Movie called Attraction. 3-4 times.
Interstellar. 3 times.
50 Shades of Grey. 6 times.

Why does this happen?

I do that too. It's probably why they call some movies timeless.

Like Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory type timeless .

I tend to do it a lot with animes and a number of films from the 70s and 80s.

I never tire of watching Angus scrimm in the Phantasm films. Boyyyyyy!!!!

Father Ted. My entire life is based on the sound bytes alone. "Would you like a cup of Tea"? "Go on".

Every Which Way but Loose. "Right turn Clyde".

Billy Jack. "I'm going to take my right foot, and whoop you on that side of your head".

Classic! I haven't had TV since the '90's, but I watch The Princess Bride whenever I get the chance. (I have the book on my bookshelf.)

Why does this happen?

For me its a combination of good actors, good scripts and character development.

I’ll also occasionally rewatch one of my “one watch is enough” movies. Like Requiem for a Dream or Trainspotting. Good movies and I love them, but they emotionally drain me too much lol
