Citizen Mod
History Channel THE UFO HUNTERS Season 1 & 2 (26 Episodes)
DVD/ Color/ Approx. 1300 Mins./ NR/ 2008
For anyone interested in UFOs, it is a fair presentation. The cases are relevant and historical, the introduction of guest researchers reinforces the purpose of the show, the investigations seem sincere and the science methods are entertaining. Bad points are that the results always arrive inconclusive, the over acting smells of sensationalism, to many nodding and mugging pick-up shots, the MTV-style editing.

Kenny.

Funny mockumentary of a working class guy delivering porta-potties and going to the International Pumper and Cleaner expo.

Great acting.

It's okay. The acting is not the best and the tied in story lines are just too contrived but considering I watched the whole film it wasn't that bad.

Going to the movies is stupid in my opinion. You pay way too much money, sit in a crowd where you just know someone is sick. You have to deal with distractions. You can not see something over if you like. Your shoes get sticky and you have to watch the show on a schedule. Six months later, you can own the movie and watch it all you like, when you like. If I am going to endure a theatre with all the hassles, I want live people performing in front of me.

When the spring and summer come around, mrscardero and I avoid all that by going to the Drive-In. After the movie, we pick up a late hour performance at Pleasure Paradise, which is just down the road from Fair Oaks Drive-In.

Watched Pisaj, decent thai horror ghost story, and Prachya Pinkaew's Ong Bak and Chocolate.

I have a crush on Pumwaree Yodkamol now.

Love me some muay Thai!

I watched this movie last night.

In the Electric Mist

It’s from the Dave Robicheaux detective series by James Lee Burke. Nobody can describe south Louisiana like Burke can.
I have to pick up some Burke. Fans swear by him. I'd reccomend some Joe Lansdale, particularly the Hap and Leonard books, if you're interested in gritty detective murder noir. Lansdale describes east Texas in terms that make me never wanna go there, yet compel me at the same time. It's sad that a crap series like True Blood is on HBO yet Lansdale's Hap and Leonard series hasn't made it to tv or the big screen yet. Criminal really.

Speaking of which, saw season one of True Blood. My wife loves the show but I can't enjoy it at all. Also watched the first Transformers- I know, I know... I'm way behind on my "toys made into big budget action films" viewing. I got bored 20 minutes into it and just chapter selected my way to the epic fight scenes. Based on that I'd give it a B+, for every scene with humans I'd say D-. Unless Megan were in the scene, then a B+. :D

Watched My Little Eye, excellent indie horror flick remeniscent of Session 9 meets The Blair Witch Project (only due to the digital camera setup of Blair'). Saw Night of the Creeps- picked up a bootleg dvd a few weeks back since it has yet to be released. Classic 80s zombie sci-fi horror comedy. And also Crimewave, Sam Raimi's second film that he made with the Coen Bros. Fun, odd live action cartoon basically.

I have fallen into the habit of hiring five movies a week. Not new releases, so im not under pressure to return them quickly.

This week I hired:

The protector - Ching Chong Lee kind of movie. - fight scenes were good. Story - not so good. Close to the end there is a scene with a building burning and water all over the place while fighting was going on, made for quite a good visual experience.

Monster in law- MAN Mr. Vittan is HOT! Jane Fonda looks amazing. Jennifer Lopez looks like she always does.

Incredibles: - I liked it. A whole family of superheros. (I thought the fact that the hero's suitmaker would not make a suit with a cape, was funny). The cape gets stuck in all sorts of places and have apparently been the demise of many a superhero.

In her shoes - Good story, cameron diaz is mostly semi dressed - ought to please the boys.

King Arthur - With Miss Knightley - Absolutely horrible. Cant believe Jerry Buckenheimer got involved in the project.

Martyrs

New French horror movie to redefine the genre that actually was nothing more than a waste. The concept behind it was not bad but the script and acting were worthless. Not to mention an underwhelming ending.

I picked up a copy of Martyrs based on the concept and the extremely polemic reviews but have yet to watch it. Same for A L'interieur (which I'm waiting for a certain someone to actually arrange a time we can actually watch it).

Smoke

Done here.
The last two movies I've seen were Milk and Up.

I liked them both. I think Milk is about as good a dramatization of Harvey Milk's career as one could reasonably hope for, and Up is a sweet and funny movie with a ludicrous premise (old man uses toy balloons to move his house to Venezuela) and clever, original animation.
