The 1997 film Bean is currently on TV I am watching it right now

It is a feature length movie featuring Mr Bean

I have never found Mr Bean funny

It is wrong to mock the developmentally disabled there are actually people who are like Mr Bean

It's easy

Comedy should punch up, not down

Mr Bean is about awkwardness, not the disabled.

I agree, but what people find funny is personal.

Not sure I'd agree about it mocking disability, though. Surely it's just meant to be silly?

While I understand your good intentions here Eddi, I feel that this is on rather shaky ground. For a start, what is Mr Beans disability? In the series, Bean manages to live alone, own and drive a car and has a girlfriend. He is doing OK.

Rowan Atkinson cites Peter Sellers as an influence. Sellers, to quote Wikipedia, "had previously played bumbling fool characters". There is nothing new here.

Humour is very personal.

I've only saw the guy in Rat Race. He was pretty funny.

He has an obvious mental impairment even though he can look after himself

In the film Bean he is clearly disabled, if you watch how he interacts with the other characters
