back in the days of Muhammad, was there a law stating the age of concent? if not then how can we call him a pedophile for a crime that wasn't a crime back then? Just curious, and I don't know if there were any ages of concent back then or not...

For example, in New Hampshire, the legal age for girls is 13 with parental consent.[6] In Massachusetts, the legal age for girls is 12 with parental consent.[7] In Mississippi, there is no age minimum for girls, as long as there is parental consent.[8] In California, there is no age minimum for girls, as long as there is parental consent.[9]
Granted, the American state laws were passed in the 19th and 20th centuries—not today. And granted, American’s aged 12 or 13 do not typically get married today. The point still stands, however, that even in recent American history, American’s found value—not objection—in marrying at 12 or 13, or even younger, and passed laws through their state legislatures to affirm their value. This exercise in no way argues for a return to such marrying ages. Rather, it merely establishes the point that “appropriate” marriage age is based on social construct—not some supposed objective, advanced contemporary standard.

The term "pedophile" in no way depends on the law or customs of a certain culture. It depends only on a person being attracted to children. So, I'm not sure how your argument is even relevant. Please correct certain facts:

" ......most historians report that Hadhrat Asmara, Hadhrat Ayesha’s elder sister, was ten years her senior.[15] The books, “Tahzibut Tahzib” and “Al-Bidaayah wa an-Nihayah,” both report that Hadhrat Asma died at the age of 100, in 73 A.H. or 695 A.D.[16] This means that Hadhrat Asmara must have been no younger than 27 at the time of emigration. Hadhrat Ayesha’s marriage to Prophet Muhammad was in 1 A.H. when Asma was 28. This means that at a minimum, Hadhrat Ayesha was 18 upon her consenting marriage to Prophet Muhammad."

The biggest problem with your "argument" is that age of consent and law have nothing to do with whether or not a person is a pedophile.back in the days of Muhammad, was there a law stating the age of concent? if not then how can we call him a pedophile for a crime that wasn't a crime back then? Just curious, and I don't know if there were any ages of concent back then or not...
The actual age of Ayesha is varied and still debated. But on the topic of "no minimum age of consent with parents permission" is misleading in this comment. There is no specified age in which someone could legally marry. However the statutory laws still apply. It is not legal for an adult to have sex with, lets say a 13 year old in California with or without the parents consent. Please correct certain facts:

I think he is confused about what the word "pedophile" actually means. Not sure how it is difficult to grasp, but, as you said, it is not directly tied to the law. It is merely a way of describing a neurological condition.Um...
What does any of this have to do with the claim of pedophilia?
I'm curious, where did you get the idea that there was a prerequisite for illegality for someone to be considered a pedophile? It is piculiar that you would think this, as pedophiles can exist (hypothetically) in countries where pedophelia is even encouraged. Laws governing the matter are irrelevent to your question.back in the days of Muhammad, was there a law stating the age of concent? if not then how can we call him a pedophile for a crime that wasn't a crime back then? Just curious, and I don't know if there were any ages of concent back then or not...
I would have to agree. Great assessment. Here’s my thinking on this: There’s no sign, from the life of Muhammad, that he was a pedophile in the way we understand pedophilia today. He was not, far as I can see, persistently attracted to prepubescent children. He only had sex with one child based on the traditionalist accounts.
Using modern terminology, it might be appropriate to call Muhammad a child molester, but without a better understanding of his other sexual habits and fantasies, and based on what we have to go on, he is probably not a pedophile.
I'm not applying any labels, but what Muhammad did was not common and his other wives and followers questioned him about it more than once. His repetitive response was Allah ordained/granted it. For most cultures which we know a decent amount about during the time-frame, 6 years old for marriage and 9 years old for sealing the deal wouldn't have been typical.
Repeating it doesn't make it so folks. Prepubescent marriage is extremely atypical, past and present.
