If there was somehow a way to actually prove Muhammad didn't exist, it would be very relevant...shreds of doubt might matter to seekers but few others.

Muhammed's existence is attested to by multiple, independent, near contemporary, non-Muslim sources. (Seeing Islam as others saw it by Robert Hoyland is probably the best text for the early non-Muslim historical sources. There aren't actually any Muslim ones so these are the earliest full stop.)

Just as clearly, much of the sira is hagiography written centuries after the fact and later historians confusing the actions of later Muslim figures with the actions of Muhammed.
