I think I brought this up another time in music not sure.

So considering the new movie that came out Elvis and information on how twisted his relationship with Priscilla and women was;Should we Decide to not listen to his music?

Although I don't always listen to him I do have a few songs by him I like. I won't quit listening to him.
He was a great artist I like his music. How do yall feel?

Most of the time when it comes to artists i keep their personal and professional lives separate. But there are artists whose personal lives are so bad the two can't be separate.

As far as Elvis is concerned, unfortunately there are many artists who made bad choices like that also; Ray Charles comes to mind. Perhaps these men should be vilified ... but this problem is also very widespread... the most notable example to date is Ariana Grande...

Jerry Lee Lewis married Myra his 13 year old cousin. I liked Dennis Quades role of him in Great Balls Of Fire.

I don't think there's any reason to stop listening to music that you enjoy just because the artist did things that you don't approve of.

I think most artists are a little crazy. :p

It depends. There's definitely degrees to this. I draw the line at stuff like what R. Kelly and P. Diddy have done. If you're brutalizing people, raping people, etc. I will not support you at all. They can go to hell at that point. It's important not to stream them because they get paid for streams. I didn't listen to one of my favorite bands for years, and blocked them on Spotify, because the singer tried to have his wife killed. (I got back into them a couple of years ago, because he seems to be contrite over it and it's a band, not just him, but this is his last and only chance.)

I can put up with people whose work I enjoy being pricks like Phil from Pantera. He's an ******* but he's not physically harming anyone.

As for Elvis, he sounded like an insecure bully towards Priscilla, who was abusive to her in various ways. Definitely a damaged person. But that sort of stuff is sadly very common. I can understand still enjoying his work, but keep in mind he was a flawed human being. Priscilla herself said she still loves him. Life is complicated - but only to a point, like I mentioned above.

I can't recall any of Lewis's stuff. I have liked several films with Quade though so I'll probably check that out.
