I also go with more of the some drug-induced groups.

Jefferson Airplane is one.

I also like the Mamas and Papas.

lol Well, the ones you listed before weren't exactly 'straight edge.' Especially The Beatles (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, anyone? ;)). Anyhow, yeah The Mamas and the Papas are also cool.

Myself as well. I listen to all sorts of music, though I'm partial to the rock genre.--Has anyone checked out Charlotte Church lately? Apparently she's been experimenting with other genres of music for a while now. I want to pick up her latest, 'Moodswings.' Her voice just blows me away.

Actually Lucy isn't about LSD. It's about a picture John's son drew (we have an 11-disc Beatles anthropology :) ), but the song by the beatles "I want you back" is about someone named Mary Jane.

I dunno why, but no, I never cared much for Elvis.

I thought the movies were much more fun. :D

Bijelo Dugme was one of the first bands to come out of the Sarajevo School of Rock, which changed the music industry throughout Eastern Europe. An astounding number of rock bands formed in Sarajevo and many of them are still famous.

None moreso than Bijelo Dugme. The band members, Muslims mainly but also an Orthodox Christian, came together at a time when that wasn't an issue. The band, of course, broke apart during the war.

But last year they came together again for a tour of the former Yugoslavia, and started in - of course - Sarajevo.

Bijelo Dugme - LIVE SARAJEVO (AMAZING CLIP!)

And here are some of their biggest hits:

Bijelo Dugme - Djurdjevdan

Bijelo Dugme Hajdemo U planine (******! AWESOME!******)

In this clip, I'll post it again because I hope you all look.

It's so weird to see Bosnian Muslims dressed this way (the crowd, I mean), especially the women. It was so flower-power... LOL

Bijelo Dugme - Hajdemo u planine

There's a modern dance mix of this that's AWESOME. Hajdemo u planine means Let us go up to the mountains.

Here's a clip of the modern, dance version of the song. You'll like it much better just because the quality is so much better and you can actually hear what Bijelo Dugme's biggest hit (at least among the ladies) is like. :D

KARMA - HAJDEMO U PLANINE!
