Muslims: Ahmadiyyat and the Imam Mahdi

As an ahmadi, I always find an astonishing unwillngness of Non-Ahmadi Muslims to engage in any type of religious debate on the death of Jesus and truth of the Promised Messiah based on the Quran, ahadith and other religious literature. Most seem content only with verbal abuse. So, just a shout out to any muslim here who would genuinely like to test the truth Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad based on the Quran and ahadith.

No Takers?

Alright, then let me start with proving the claim of Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani. I will base all my arguments on the Quran, and any opposers should also rebut any arguments from passages of the Quran, as this is the one common belief between all of us that the Qur'an's verdict is absolute.

The fact of the matter is, according to the standard that the Qur'an has given for judging whether a prophet is true or not, The Promised Messiah, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, is a TRUE PROPHET. If his prophethood is not proven by all the Quranic arguments in his favour, then neither can any other prophet's prophethood be accepted based on the criteria provided in the Quran. I will state the arguments as soon as I can.

And please, we are all civilized people here. If you have something intelligent to ask based on the Quran or a genuine argument based on the Quran, then state it. OTherwise, if you just want to call him a liar or want to indulge in other abuse, then save it for the Day of Judgement.

ARGUMENT #1: Truthfulness and High Morals in Life BEFORE Claim to Prophethood

I have indeed lived among you a whole lifetime before this. Will you not then understand? (10:17)

This is the argument that the Holy Prophet (saw) gave to those who doubted his truthfulness. The argument was how can a man, who has told not a single lie in his entire life, and has shown such high morals his entire life that he has become famous for it, suddenly invent such a lie? It is impossible. Perhaps someone could keep a charade up for a few years, but not an entire lifetime (in the Holy Prophet's case, 40 years), which is what the word "Umran" implies.

Now, the exact same criteria for determining the truthfulness of the Promised Messiah, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, must be used. Reading his history, you find not one instance of a lie in his life before him claim to prophethood. On the contrary, we find that he was a highly respected saint in India, a person who received revelation from Allah, and a great champion of Islam. He was hailed as the person who stopped the great Christian conversion of muslims in India at that time, and put to silence all opponents who attacked Islam with his God-given insights into the Quran.

This is exactly the same case with all prophets. Noone can point to a flaw in their character before their claim to prophethood, and neither after. It is only after their claim though that many falsities are attributed to them, as the stories of the Prophets in the Quran are adequate to prove this point.

In conclusion, according to this standard to judge a true prophet, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani comes fully up to the mark. To disregard this proof would be disregarding a proof the Holy Prophet gave for his own prophethood.

ARGUMENT 2: A Forger of Revelation is Killed within 23 YEARS

speaker.gif

[69:45] And if he had forged and attributed any sayings to Us,

speaker.gif
[69:46] We would surely have seized him by the right hand,

speaker.gif
[69:47] And then surely We would have severed his life-artery,
‏
speaker.gif
[69:48] And not one of you could have held Us off from him.

I'll get to the 23 year part later. First of all, this section states whoever forges a lie against us, will be seized at killed by Allah in some sort of extraordinary manner, unless, of course, he truly repents.

Now, it is important to understand the conditions this verse gives about HOW a person forges a lie. These conditions are as follows

1. He is not crazy.
تَقَوَّلَ is from the verb "Qa-va-La". When it is changed to this form, it indicates willfully saying something will full sense of what you are implying.

2. He believes in verbal revelation and not just being "inspired" by Allah. The verse says
بَعْضَ الْاَقَاوِيْلِ which means some solid sayings from the "mouth" of Allah Himself.

3. He announces the revelations himself, and there should be proof. The "Fa'il" of
تَقَوَّلَ is the claimant himself. In other words, the person in question must have claimed revelation, and it's just his followers attributing revelation to him.

4. He does not claim to be God. A claimant of divinity is dealt with another verse.

So, these are the conditions of claiming revelation if you want to be judged according to the criteria of the Quran. And we see that the Promised Messiah, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani, fulfills every one of these conditions. He knew the consequences of his claim, he claimed verbal revelation from God, wrote down and published his revelations for all people to judge, and did not claim to be God.

Now, the time-line for judging whether a claimant is true or not is 23 years. In other words, if the claimant is alive 23 years after he claims revelation, he MUST be true. This is what all the commentators of the Qur'an have agreed upon. And the reasoning is that The Holy Prophet (saw) lived for 23 years after claiming revelation. The Holy Quran says about him, that if he had claimed false revelation,

speaker.gif
[17:76] In that case We would have made thee taste similar afflictions of life and similar afflictions of death, and then thou wouldst not have found for thyself any helper against Us.

So if the Holy Prophet, the closest person to Allah, was promised double punishment in this world and the afterlife if he forged a lie against Allah, how could Allah let a liar go scot free for longer than he had let the Holy Prophet live? Especially when he promised such a severe punishment for a forger of revelation?

And history bears witness to this 23 year period. No forger of revelation has lived longer than 23 years. Ever. In the entire Islamic history. and there have been quite a few claimants.

So now, back to the Promised Messiah. The first time he printed his revelations (at least, on a large scale. He had numerous articles before that) was in 1882 in vol.3 of his book Braheen-i-Ahmadiyya. Several dozen revelations were recorded. The promised messiah died in 1908.

So, 1908-1882 = 26 years

The Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad lived for 26 years after publishing his revelations on a large scale. This in itself is proof enough of his truthfulness, because a liar cannot receive revelation from God, deceive a large number of people, and still live longer than the Holy Prophet after he claimed revelation.

ARGUMENT 3: Enemies Unable to Reply

Or they say: He hath invented it. Say: Then bring ten surahs, the like thereof, invented, and call on everyone ye can beside Allah, if ye are truthful! And if they answer not your prayer, then know that it is revealed only in the knowledge of Allah; and that there is no God save Him. Will ye then be (of) those who surrender? (11:14-15)

Another truth of the Holy Prophet was that his rivals could not bring the like of the Quran. The challenge of the Quran is that the opponents bring a text similiar to it. Likewise, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani, also issued a similiar challenge to his opponents.

The Promised Messiah was granted unparalleled eloquence in the Arabic language as a special sign from God. He stated that God has granted me such excellence in the Arabic language that it is a shadow of the Excellence of the Holy Quran. It should be noted that he was by no means an Arab, and lived in a small village, Qadian, in India. He had not the means to become a great scholar in Arabic.

So, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad wrote 2 books in arabic, "aijaz-ul-Ahmadi' and "aijaz-ul-masih". And in the first he issued a challenge. He stated that if anyone, ANYONE, can write a reply to these books, which comprised of 2 articles and 1 poem, and publish them through some public outlet within 20 days, he will get 10 000 rupees (a very large amount back then) and I WILL ADMIT THAT I AM A LIAR, I AM RUINED AND THAT MY FOLLOWERS SHOULD LEAVE ME.

But he also wrote that "God will break their pens, and will confound their hearts". Along with "It is a book that has no answer and anyone who attempts to answer it will see how he is abased and embarrassed"

It should be noted that the reply didn't have to be a rebuttal or anything to be judged. the challenge was that ANY REPLY, no matter how ludicrous or unscholarly, if it comprised the same material in arabic, would suffice. And the content was only about 90 pages, a paltry number for the combined skills of all his opponents at that time. Someone could have easily gathered 30-40 Mullahs and written and published a reply in a week. And could have put an end to this "apostate", doing a great favour to Islam.

But the result was a great miracle shown in favour of Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. His opponents could not issue any reply in the given time. One man, Maulvi Muhammad Hussein Faiz, decided to write a reply. The promised messiah received a revelation about his intention, in which God said that he would be stopped by heaven. Within one week of starting he died of natural causes.

Imam Ghazali in his book "al-iktisaad fee al-ei'ti'kaad" writes that if a prophet says a sign of my truthfulness is that today I can move my little finger and noone else can, and this statement of his proves true, his truthfulness is established. This sign is much grander than what Imam Ghazali has stated.

So, in the Quranic criteria of showing a literary sign, or any sign in which the opponents are unable to respond, the Promised Messiah meets the standard.

I am not well versed in qu' ran or islam so much, however, this is a start, and it is why I am here. The death of jesus (jeshua) and messianic ideals. Where should I begin.
The death of Jeshua (jesus). First of all, according to prophecy, the true messiah was to be stoned to death, then hung from a tree. That was hebrew law, and prophecy.
My major concern with judgement is that... it would be done. I am not familiar enough with "eastern" "semetic" texts and viewpoints enough, mostly because I grew up in the USA.
Again, that is why I am here.

"First of all, according to prophecy, the true messiah was to be stoned to death, then hung from a tree. That was Hebrew law, and prophecy. "
Can to tell us where this comes from please?

Debate about the claims of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad only convince those whose minds are open.

Look at the actions of God and Muslims.
In spite of continuous attempts for over 100 years by different Muslim factions to stop Ahmadis spreading the truth of their message they have continued to develop until now they are represented in over 200 countries of the world.
In contrast, since the claims of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad to be the Promised Messiah the empire of the Muslims has collapsed and they have been reduced to fighting factions unable to co-operate even with each other. The lowest education levels and poorest peoples are to be found in Muslim lands. Inspite of the discovery of unimagined wealth in the form of oil in Arab lands they have remained at the beck and call of Christian governments unable to unite into a group that could and should control many countries of the world. They even lost the land of Palestine back to the Jews. Often it is repeated that Ahmadis are agents of Britain or Israel as if they had more power than God.

Allah has promised success to those who believe and do good in this world and in the hereafter.
The state of many Muslims today is a result of ignoring God's guidance and not doing good.
Like some of the Jews in the time of Christ Muslims today have their own perceived image of the Messiah/Mahdi and so would recognize the real one when he was before them.

Most Muslim scholars view Ahmadiyya community as a heretical Islamic group and I agree with them in that ruling. So they are in no authority to speak in the name of Islam
