Nope. At least apparently not. I think an area of the mind, something akin to groundhog's day is that of the continuing question.

No it doesn't. It is just the form of speech we are taught to use to differentiate between self and other.

What do you suggest people say when they go to a doctor with a body part problem?

How about sex talk - with no "my," "your?"

And, what about the man who lost his leg in an accident ?

Note that YOU used "his!" This is language to differentiate. It is hard to form a coherent sentence without these words.

In English Grammar, my, your, his, her, its, our, their,- are Possessive Adjectives.
