Hmmmm.... might be more going on here than my simple mind can grasp. Why doesn't Standing Alone feel helped to learn she shouldn't express her love for someone, and that her sexual orientation is like a controlled substance? *ponders this, slowly*

alot of people menatlly ill. Just in different ways. and to different extents. For instance i suffer anxiety, depression, panic attacks, OCD, ADD,among other things

I suffer from some mental disorders as well and I can assure you, my homosexuality isn't one of them.

I'm not angry and not offended. I just don't see how you can say this attitude is loving when you say we are mentally ill, compare our sexual orientation to doing drugs, say we make the world unstable..... telling someone these things is not helping them. What makes you think they need your help in the first place?

I agree. My panic attacks in relation to my fear of needles is a serious problem that I need to get out of my life. My homosexuality doesn't hurt me or Liz in the least, though.

It doesn't make me unable to concentrate on schoolwork or suicidal or cause me to have panic attacks or any of the millions of other things actual mental illnesses can cause. It just means I'd rather sleep with women and am personally disgusted by the idea of sleeping with a man (no offense to you gay guys and straight girls!).

Gay and lesbian couples are denied equal rights because of beliefs like yours. Children of gay parents have to go without the legal protections that marriage would give them if their parents could be legally married, because of beliefs like yours. Same sex partners who happen to be from different countries are kept apart because they can't sponsor their partner for immigration because of beliefs like yours. I could go on and on....

So who is really being persecuted?

As for looking bad, you don't. You're views look bad. There's a differences between weakly supported opinions and a weak person. No one thinks you're a weak person for posting your opinions.
