aha
Now I could well be off the mark on this but I associate high church with conservatives who like communion every Sunday and low church with liberals who have communion the odd time, favour gay marriage and female clergy.
But I don't find it comes up IRL
I don't know. I just hear these terms from dad. High church, according to him definitely has its conservative elements but tends to be more mystical and, well, catholic. Whereas the low church, according to him, consists of the people who are trying to spread their 'evangelical agenda' and get rid of the traditions (preaching style in other words, like the mass). The people in our diocese who are accepting of homosexual priests, women priests, ie/liberal, are the more Catholic minded members whereas the more protestant 'low church' members are really against it. So, a bit of confusing contradictions there. I guess these terms have different meanings in different places too.
