My New Ideas: Play

rtc143

Curious George
This is the first segment of sorts of my new play. I decided to post it here and get some ideas, suggestions, and comments.

Alls Fair In Love And War, and Death Is the Outcome.

ACT I, scene i;

Nolan and Baldric enter on stage left.

Nolan: What is love, but a cover for scornful sins of the flesh?

Baldric: Could it not be more, dear Nolan.

Nolan: True love can exist, between (pause)... people like you and I. We are the exceptions.

Baldric: Exceptions? How so?

Nolan: It is quite easy my close, close friend. We see the person. Not beauty, nor wealth, nor benefits that should come of our "love."

Baldric: Very true, Nolan. I can only love a woman for her person; her integrity, her courtesy, anything within her soul.

Nolan:Therefore, you, as I, are an exception to the love laws. (laughs)

(Nolan and Baldric Exit):clap

I'd suggest having some conversation before this line

Nolan: What is love, but a cover for scornful sins of the flesh?

It seems like they come on stage in the middle of a conversation and I'm kind of lost, but that's just me.
Also, I really like the title.
Good luck and keep it up.
