Welcome to the forum by the way. I have a question for you. You state your name as Josef The Prophet. Do you actually make prophecies? The reason I ask is because in the Bible, it states that you will know the true Pprophets by their prophecies, and if those prophesies do not come true, then you will know that they are not from god. Just wondering if you had any, so that we would know whether or not you are actually a messenger of God?

What fame and fortune? In his lifetime he struggled financially and was persecuted and hated for what he said even though all he ever did was stand by what he knew to be truth.

revelations? really? but haven't people been saying they're prophets since, like, forever? Didn't Muhammmad claim to have revelations and be a prophet of God a.k.a Allah, too? So why should we believe you and not him?not meant to offend, or anything, just curious.

Modern day prophet, eh? Tell us something God has not told us yet of the FUTURE, to prove it. Where are the signs and wonders and miracles following, showing you are of God. You sound like the many false prophets the BIble warned would come in the last days. at least to me. Sorry, but I try to tell the truth to people as well as I know it, not to be mean, but for a reality check, as I think you may be deceived or deceiving yourself, so I warn you in love, be careful! Satan is out to deceive even the very elect. And I have yet to see any modern day prophet that had the signs and wonders and miracles following them such as followed Paul and Peter, and the disciples. PEACE!

Of course I don't think Joseph Smith was after fame and fortune, but it's a bad argument to say that he WASN'T just because he didn't SUCCEED. That's like saying that just because I don't happen to HAVE a donny iris cd means that I don't WANT one.

True, but Emmalee was also pointing out that Joseph could have ended most of his afflictions by simply denying his testimony. By the same token, I can infer that you don't want said CD if you repeatedly refuse it when it's offered, or otherwise take actions that would prevent you from getting it.

EDIT: I suppose we shouldn't tie up this thread with our niggling over points of logic. Please reply in IM if you wish to continue.
