My synagogue made it into the BBC News.

The people who speak on the video give a sense of optimism that goes beyond the recycling of conflict in the media. These are the common worshippers and it's nice to hear their opinion.

This is a beautiful thing.

Your shul is in Virginia, I saw.

I lived in Flushing, Queens for six years. While Muslims and Jews never actually shared houses of worship, we did share understanding. To this day, one of my fondest memories is walking to work, and two children were selling chocolate bars as a fundraiser for the local parochial school for Muslims. Evidently, I was easily identified as a Jew, and the little boy said, "It's okay. You can eat our chocolate. It's Kosher. See?" And he showed me the kosher symbol.

I was planning on it, in any event, but I was so charmed I believe I bought two.

It is a beautiful thing.

Yes my shul is in Va. In fact it is about 20 miles out of the city of DC. After 9/11 all the local religious communities got together and went to the local mosque to make sure they were not attacked by hate.

Every year on the anniversary that has been an ongoing activity.

Since my area was also under attack when the Pentagon was hit it was a very scary time for everyone and especially for anyone who was a muslim or even looked Muslim, as we all know the Sikh community has been targeted too.

So sweet! Thank you for sharing that!

It reminds me of one of my favorite Holiday cards. (I save my favorites from every year.)
It's a drawing of two cabs meeting on the street driving in opposite directions, one cab has a Minora on it's roof, the other a Christmas Tree.
The cab driver in the Minora cab waves and says Merry Christmas!
And the cab driver in the Christmas Tree cab waves and says Happy Hannukah!

I love the brand "S'better". They make good corn-dogs. But one of the things that specifically makes me happy is that on the package it shows certification that the food is both considered Kosher and Halal.
