My thoughts on the shooting of two terrorists in Garland, TX

Hey everybody, ad you may know there was a shooting in Garland, Texas of two terrorists who opened fire on a freedom of speech convention becauseit was a convention of cartoons of the 'prophet' Muhammad. The following comments are struck my own and and as a result, call me whatever names you wish, but I will not recant the comments to come.

It is a disgrace that a shooting like this could occur on American soil. These people who have done this are no different than the people who attacked Us, the American mainland and our way of life, back on September 11th, 2001. As a result, we need to round up all these people who were an active part of the attack because these two couldn't of been the only ones in the cell, we need to round them up, do what it takes to get the information we need, and then put a bullet in their head.

Why should we allow them to live when they attack us? When a person takes up arms against the U.S. or our allies, they have forfeited their right to life and other rights. Our leaders, I.E., the president and his cabinet and the Congress are cowards. Right now we need to be overseas fighting against the evils of the Islamic State, of nations like Russia who expand beyond what is rightfully theirs. Why should we as a nation agree to international treaties such as Nuclear non-prolliferation treaties and treaties banning weapon systems in low earth orbit?

We should be building another aircraft carrier, maybe even two, we should be enlarging our nuclear arms stockpiles, and we should be building satellite arrays capable of carrying rods that when dropped from low earth orbit (LEO) would have the same destructive force as a small tactical warhead. We should also be researching ways of harvesting the materials that would be too expensive or too hard to obtain on Earth from the moon.

During World War Two, We used to be the greatest military power in world history, even greater than Rome at the height of its power. If our leaders pulled their heads out of their asses and realized what is trully wrong with this nation, then we would be preparring for war against Russia, North Korea, and maybe even China.

Right now my heart goes out to the family of the security guard that was shot by the two terrorists. I would love to hear what you guys have to say in response. Feel free to respobd with what you truly feel about my response to this and my comments.

Oddly enough, your geopolitical perspective is very much like that of the would-be Islamic State, except for the target. Right up to the disillusionment with the state and fantasizing about a mythologized past of former military glory. Me, I don't fancy the kind of "respect" that comes from being at one end of a gun. To easy for someone to flip the thing around. Or are you forgetting that sabre-rattling military bluster was what got Germany and Japan into trouble in the first place? I suppose I'd rather have a fascist totalitarian American empire than a fascist totalitarian Islamist empire, but it's a poop or vomit kind of decision; I'd much rather have a sane and civil world than any particular flavor of hellhole.

Well first off, there's many more people than just I that's disillusioned with the state of America and secondly in my rant I wasn't calling for America to rule the world like the Islamic State would, I'm calling for America to remember it's role as global protector. The reason we're tasked with it is because every country in history so far has failed to do so. Most recently, look at Britain several hundred years ago. They lost sight of what their calling was and ended up ruling the world and ended up getting taken down by a group of rebels that was America's original Patriots. If we let things on the global stage continue unchecked, then the Islamic State will win and we will end up living back in the 12th century again because if we as Americans can't stop the Islamic state, who will?

We should be at war with Islamic State but not with Russia. We should be allies with Russia as a fellow nation of Christians. I'm undecided about China, though.

Free speech whether you like it or not, is a fundamental pillar of western society. I know of no other group other than Islam that if it takes offence comes to your place with an AK47.
Any system that can not accept constructive criticism deserves extinction.

That's a creative interpretation.

You do realize that most of the "Intolerable Acts" that spurred the American Revolution were fundraising measures to help pay the huge debt that they ran up fighting a long and expensive global war, don't you?

...and here you are, arguing for a long and expensive global war.

"A fellow nation of Christians"?! What do you mean by that? Just the majority or something? Neither are "Christian Nations", unless I missed something drastic over the past 2 days.

A little premature to call it a terrorist attack, and it's not even remotely comparable to 9/11.
Unless the event itself didn't have anything to do with the attempted murder, then it has to be terrorism, as it was done because of religious beliefs, right? The 911 thing is accurate though. Not much similarity.

Happens all the time in the US. People just ignore it. It seems pretty emementry that people will always do their best to offend others, and the obvious best option is to ignore them. The more people get upset, the more attention those who are trying to offend get.

I agree that no one on this planet has the right to not be offended, and we should certainly not placate anyone who demands that those that offend be punished. But, extinction?!

And those who equate hate-speech and provocation with constructive criticism is blinded by their own biases.

What struck me is that this happened in Texas, and the only ones killed were the terrorists. Don't mess with Texas.

America aside, don't you think it is barbaric to use violence as retribution for being offended? Shoudn't anyone who tries to murder in cold blood simply because they are offended because of an art exhibit be dealt with extremely harshly?
