Ive read many people who strive for gnosis who take the early christian gnostics accounts of the demiurge to mean that judaism has no divine inspiration.

This i honestly take as just nitpicking.

Its kind of like how neopagans talk about "the All" or whatever that pagan wants to call it, and then inevitably someone says "so its God" and the neopagans generally respond with "no no no, hes an imposter"
Because they have grown resentful of christianity.
In the same way gnostics talked about "the one" and then the jews went "its YHWH" and the gnostics go "no no no, hes an imposter" , in like fashion they grew resentful of Hebrew religion.

Obviously my reasoning is that divine knowledge doesnt come with a glossery.

When i talk to kabbalist jews they seem to talk about the same things as gnostic christians. Reincarnation, viels of illusion, divine spark, yada yada.

Why is gnostic religion and hebrew religion so incompatible. Because a few guys said yhwh was evil?

After reading about gnostic christianity it seems that it has less to do with rejecting jews and more to do with rejecting pauls crap and his hijacking of christianity from Yeshua.

I think the divine gnosis is resparked in the new age movement.
In fact i think jesus was an ancient new ager basically.

Also Rastafari has very similar beliefs to early christians. Aside from the black power thing. Rasta is the realist christianity

Just sayin. And trying to take the very emotional thing that is religion away from this wierd black and white academia that seems to pop up.

What do you actually think. I dont need bible quotes. Just wondering how you feel about alot of these movements

Good, I'd rather not provide scripture to address what you're asking.

I'm Gnostic Christian, but of the New Age variety. I essentially see God of Genesis 2 (and onward as demiurge). That would be, for me, an (otherwise) heavenly being that is subordinate to Creator God, and is responsible for the material world.

For me, the kicker is that demiurge is us, and we are (as our heavenly selves) one being. How that 'oneness' looks precisely, I'm not 100% sure, but I mean by it unified. I think, as Spiritual goes, the distinctions are few really, and the appearance of many (countless) distinctions is illusion. I also am not too hung up on understanding the physical world from the spiritual perspective, as I see it really more about understanding it as separation from a) Creator God and b) from unified self, i.e. we appear separate from ourselves, or each other.

I think it is more convenient to think of a leader at the helm of demiurge (i.e. Satan type being). I see that ultimately as scapegoating, being irresponsible with own thinking.

Anyway, I'm a little off in left field with what some, or perhaps most, of your post was conveying. But I say all that I did because I do see God of OT as imposter, and certainly appears to be at the helm. IMHO, that being deserves zero worship and full forgiveness. I believe Creator God provided means for that full forgiveness long (long long) before the material universe came about. So, not really an issue between those two entities, and I fully believe Creator God isn't, for a second threatened by such an entity, or any plausible conceivable entity that any religion has ever dreamt up.

But we may be. Or believe we are. Or behave as if we are.
Which is why forgiveness (very much) matters, and why continuing the blame game and seeking to condemn another is at best scapegoating and truly useless. Now, the flip side of this is that the being I'm saying that appears to be at the helm (of demiurge) is at least a little bit about condemnation, shaming, guilt, and fear. All serious stuff, from a certain perspective. A perspective that identifies with notion that what is divine, can be threatened. Yet, from perspective that knows Creator, comes realization that what is real cannot be threatened. And that the other stuff is, actually humorous. Truly laughable. Which helps a bit when those who want to use religion / spirituality to lay claims to divinity being really upset with us, and really ashamed at what we are doing now. But sometimes, I think, it best to keep the humor to own self and walk away from a battle where no one will win, cause well there's nothing (real) to be gained.

The facts being contradictory often in the same missive, it becomes obvious to some that 'Religion Is What You Make It' thereby allowing greater freedom of creative responses one might think. Obviously the total domination of patriarchy is often the preferred choice, but individual differences allow for variety. Be that as it may, it is also easier to control populations if they somewhat share the same ideas and so some influence can be expected in that direction, thus giving credence to a guiding force of some kind even if it may arguably be more capricious in nature than the popular projection of the young.
