yes i believe one should let their head control their heart not vise versa but i also believe that a human beings feelings are important as well. If I were to believe something else it wouldnt be genuine to me.Why do you believe all this? You say that one of these things "feels true" but feelings are unreliable. This is why we set feelings aside and reason instead. Explain.
when we lose a loved one i believe it is healthy to grieve and not put feelings aside to reason the loss. Why do you believe all this? You say that one of these things "feels true" but feelings are unreliable. This is why we set feelings aside and reason instead. Explain.
Yet you have stated that you believe some untrue things because they feel true, so you ignore the wisdom you cite here. So what's up? It's not spiritual, it's intellectual sabotage. Feelings are good when appropriate, not to conclude things about reality.yes i believe one should let their head control their heart not vise versa but i also believe that a human beings feelings are important as well.
Then perhaps your confession on a public forum is a way you are asking for help. When "genuine" is contrary to facts you are setting yourself up for failure. If I were to believe something else it wouldnt be genuine to me.
Feeling grief is an emotional response to real events in life. You are relying on feelings to make conclusions about reality that is contrary to fact. That is a problem.when we lose a loved one i believe it is healthy to grieve and not put feelings aside to reason the loss.
Not asking for help, thanks. Just being honest. Im quite comfortable with what I believe. Have been for nearly 2 decades. You live your life the way you want and I'll do the same.Yet you have stated that you believe some untrue things because they feel true, so you ignore the wisdom you cite here. So what's up? It's not spiritual, it's intellectual sabotage. Feelings are good when appropriate, not to conclude things about reality.

Furthermore, what I believe can never be proven or disproven. Sure one could say we have proof that the earth was here 2000 yrs ago, but if what I believe is true that premise would be false. Thats why it is called a belief. Some believe Jesus will return. Some believe one thing while others believe another, while some put all there faith in science. It's a choice each of us make. How boring it would be if we all thought alike.Yet you have stated that you believe some untrue things because they feel true, so you ignore the wisdom you cite here. So what's up? What you believe is irrelevant when facts show us you are wrong. That is your unforced error. Why do it?Furthermore, what I believe can never be proven or disproven. Sure one could say we have proof that the earth was here 2000 yrs ago, but if what I believe is true that premise would be false.
All belief is uncertain, so if a reasonable mind decides to believe something it should have very good evidence. To believe frivolously and carelessly is another unforced error. Why do it?Thats why it is called a belief. Some believe Jesus will return. Some believe one thing while others believe another, while some put all there faith in science. With all the evidence that it's in fact 4.5 bn years old in a universe some 14 bn years old, and with all of us with memories of yesterdays that never were?I believe the earth and all that is was created in a split second not that long ago.
I believe the earth and all that is was created in a split second not that long ago. I believe this because it feels true and right for me and anything else leaves an empty space for me. I believe that there is an individual on this earth that when they die all of existence dies with them. Of course they are reborn again and the cycle repeats itself. This just feels right. I dont think its Jesus or that they have special powers but I do believe that their other purpose other than living life is to assure eternity. I do think that this person knows who they are and probably have found peace within from discovering their true nature. Around 15 yrs. ago I formed this belief after looking inward for answers. I didn't look to religion or books. Something just told me that the answers to the questions I had about life could only be found within. Also, I do believe that life contains mysteries that can never be proven. I think the existence of what I believe is remarkably unparalleled.
in my opinion we are all one in an allegorical sense in the sense that we are all interconnected but not in a numerical and literal sense. We all die and are reborn daily. We are All-One. Reality depends on Us.
Oh, I won't let it stop me. See post #26. You go well too. With all the evidence that it's in fact 4.5 bn years old in a universe some 14 bn years old, and with all of us with memories of yesterdays that never were?
That's called "Last Thursdayism" ─ and being unfalsifiable is not taken seriously by science, but don't let that stop you.
Go well!
You believe things your way and I will mine thanks. See post #26True?!?!?!
Wnat you believe is incoherent and does not make sense,
You believe things your way and I will mine thanks. See post #26
You see reality your way, I'll see it mine.Egocentric belief is not reality.
What I believe is not an issue, because I do not rely on what I believe in terms of what is real. I rely on objectively reliable evidence of the nature of our physical existence.
You see reality your way, I'll see it mine.

Do you think Christians are unrational if they believe Jesus will return? So not because of any rational reasons then...
Not if you're wearing colored glasses hahaTrue as the sky is Carolina blue at noon on a clear day on the 4th of July,
The reality of our existence is not dependent on what you nor I believe.
What is the point of this thread other than a single-minded assertion of what you believe?
