My tulsi plant fell and pot broke

While I was cleaning around my home I accidentally knocked of my tulsi plants and broke the pot of one of tulsi which dried out. I'm very superstitious and wondering if it's a bad sign? Also, this morning a friend asked me if she can take one if tulsi plants since I have 3 of em and I told her I can grow her a new one instead of offering my plants.

It's not a problem. It is considered inauspicious to drop and break a murtty, but a tulsi plant isn't a problem, at least not as far a s I know. Welcome to these forums. Always good to have more Hindus.

I vary from Vinayaka on this one. Actually this is very bad that you let Tulsi Devi dry out, and then dropped Her pot and it broke.
Pray before Her if She is still with juice and spunky. Yes, it is time you care for Her a lot, and then you should give Devi to another with full truth on the story.
Pray to Lord Vishnu at this juncture. I am not saying it is "bad luck" - it is actually like running over a baby kitten or something horrible like that.
You will have it on your Akashic record. You should and must feel sad. To become happy again, perform some sort of penance.
I would perhaps recommend you chant a prayer mantra to Tulsi 108 beads for 16 rounds for the entire day of Sunday and crying tears before this picture:

Don't be superstitious, and don't be possessive. Mother Tulsi will bless you many times over.

I am so glad you only broke the pot , may be Tulsi Devi was crying out to you '' please water me lovingly everyday, just a little drop ''
if you have three please please give one to your freind.

I am sure giving one away and allowing another person to love and serve her will attone for your mistake of forgetting to water her.

Please be generous with Tulsi Devi.

please may I politely ask do all Shiva devotees keep Tulsi Devi at home like Krsna devotees ?

I only ask because we allways say Tulsi Devi is beloved of Krishna and we allways offer one leaf with food or water, but I think you do not offer bhoga in the same way that we do so prehaps you keep Tulsi Devi in a very differnt way ? like in Murti form rather than as Tulsi Devi in plant form ?

It would be very nice to hear your traditions.

Asha, some do, some don't. It's certainly no requirement, as far as I know. But I don't really know much about it. It could well be that people do keep them when they can. BTW, Shivafan varies from me simply because he knows more about it, so he's most likely a better source than me on this one.

Oh Dear , .... forget worrying about the pot just buy poor Tulsi devi a new one and make a thousand and eight appogies and gently nurse her back to health I am am with shivafan ji and asha devi on this one , Tulsi is most certainly beloved of Krsna , realy unless one keeps Deities at home one dosent need three tulsi plants , ....is it a bad sign , yes it is trrrible , it means you are very forgetfull :( , ...now please tell me do you remember to eat ? ...... so from now on every day before you eat your first meal check Tulsi devi , ....and sing to her then she will be happy and healthy and everything will be fine , ...
and yes please do share your Tulsi plants , .....if she has not left you then you have had a lucky escape now please take care of her .....

some beautifull Tulsi Devi here :)

@ShivaFan ji

please do tell us how other traditions keep Tulsi and what ways you use her leaves , ...I know many people use them for health reasons , but we canot , we only offer them and if we receive an offered leaf we never chew only swallow whole , ....then of course we use the manjari to make garlands , and the twigs to make neck beads so that Tulsi devi will protect us , ...

Generally not done in North India, but I see no harm in a Tulsi murti (the plant also is a substitution). One on one side of Lord Vishnu and Lakshmi on the other side.
