Mystics: Which god and religion is right?

You've experienced god, which one is it? I NEED to know! Please do not lie :(

Something is required before finding god, I'm just not so sure what it is. Just keep searching and analyzing religious and philosophical literature, people, and thought. Eventually.. god will make an appearance, I'm sure of it. Pretty sure of it.

God can be found in oxymorons. Anything less makes too much sense. (Yeah, I've been reading Joseph Campbell.)
Reminds me of one of the most profound statements of faith I've ever heard, by comedienne Julia Sweeney in "Letting Go Of God", her personal story of giving up her Catholic identity, her last prayer to "God":

"I have too much respect for you to do you the disservice of believing in you."

I can see that. The tendency of mystics to wrap experiences of God in oxymorons seems to stem from the need to keep God from a specific definition which would only remove the experience from the source. Belief can do this as well, I suppose, especially when we wrap God in a box that only suffocates the pure wonder of it.

Such a cheery thought. How terribly Christian of you.

The presumption of special knowledge is indeed a slippery slope.

if i insist on my belief ... you will tell im hallucinating and creating my God

better to be terrible on people not on my God ...

How can you know that? Besides, it is not all about belief. There is always the possibility of inspiring reflection by way of your testimonial.

Why does there have to be only ONE true god or goddess? Maybe there are 6 or 29 or 754 true gods and goddesses working together as a team. Maybe there are conflicts between them and that would explain the conflicts in he world among humans.

Dear keithnurse,
I think there are definitely 6, 29, 754, etc, different ways of experiencing and describing one's spiritual encounters; then, there are even more ways in which to interpret what others say about their spiritual encounters, which leads to an infinite number of ways in which we come to hear about and understand what is there to be encountered in first place.

Yet undoubtedly, certain qualities do often play a central role in most mystical contexts and to me, what is there to be experienced, seems singular in essence. Physically manifested though, man's reality is of course differentiated and multiple - what one makes of that, I still hope, has a positive effect on one's being.

Kind Regards,
Hermit

You've experienced god...

Or not... as the case may be.

...which one is it?
Unfortunately, did not see the label announcing who made and owns god. Suspected China, though. They seem to be making everything, no?

I NEED to know!
That might be a good start, but... Who needs to know? Who is the mover here, and what, if anything, is the motive?

Please do not lie :(
At the very best, someone here, like Ymir or Dopp, might point you to the moon. The rest of us must lie. Words lie.

"O SON OF LOVE!

Thou art but one step away from the glorious heights above and from the celestial tree of love. Take thou one pace and with the next advance into the immortal realm and enter the pavilion of eternity. Give ear then to that which hath been revealed by the pen of glory."
