Name of Sahabiyah

I am searching for the name of the lady to whom Prophet Muhammad(SAW) proposed marriage. She asked him whether it was his own wish or God's wish. When he replied that it was the former she refused to marry him. Anyone can help?

Maybe you mean "Fakhita Bint Abi Talib" and also called "Um Hani". The Prophet proposed to her but she said she had young children and if she married, she would not be able to fulfill her duties to either her marriage or her children and so she didn't marry the Prophet although she wanted him (pbuh).

But the scenario you quoted is not mentioned in her story. I believe reading it in another story with another woman and it wasn't related to the Prophet's marriage as I recall.

Thanks for the info. I read about this story a long time ago and was wondering. The scenario I mentioned I remember reading explicitly so its probably not Umm Hani.

The scenario i read in a hadith, only said that the woman refused and she found out later that He was the Prophet Muhammad, The Messenger of Allah and she truly regretted her decision then.
