I like that I can empathize with and be gentle to people whose worldviews are diametrically opposed to mine--so much that they think I share their views and believe that's the reason I treat them the way I do.

Why would you be proud of being gay? You were born that way. Isn't that like being proud you have brown hair? I'm not proud I'm hetero, although the ladies are happy about it. I don't mean this to sound homophobic, I just don't get it. Being gay isn't an accomplishment, it's just what you were born as.
